We report a simple and convenient N-terminal thiazolidine (Thz) deprotection strategy and its application in one-pot multisegment ligation. In this strategy, -benzylhydroxylamine (O-BHA) is used to efficiently and rapidly convert Thz into N-terminal cysteine. O-BHA can be easily separated from the ligation buffer by organic solvent extraction, avoiding the degradation of the peptide thioester by O-BHA. The utility of the O-BHA-based one-pot ligation strategy has been demonstrated in the assembly of CC chemokine ligand-2.

The esterase gene encoding EstJN1 of Clostridium butyricum, which was isolated from the pit cellar of Chinese liquor facility, was expressed. EstJN1 was identified as a novel GDSL esterase belonging to family II. The enzyme demonstrated a marked substrate preference for p-nitrophenyl butyrate, with optimal activity at a temperature of 40 ℃ and a pH of 7.

LiNiMnO (LNMO) is a promising material for the cathode of lithium-ion batteries (LiBs); however, its high operating voltage causes stability issues when used with carbonate battery electrolytes. Ionic liquids are a viable alternative to conventional carbonate solvents due to their thermal stability and electrochemical window. This work reports the performance of LNMO/Li half cells with an ionic liquid electrolyte (ILE) composed of 0.

Commercial lithium-ion batteries using organic solvent-based liquid electrolytes (LEs) face safety issues, including risks of fire and explosion. As a safer alternative, solid-state electrolytes are being extensively explored to replace these organic solvent-based LEs. Among various solid electrolyte options, polymer electrolytes offer advantages such as flexibility and ease of processing.

Conventional acidizing struggles to remove complex, organic-rich scales in oil wells, and while strong organic solvents can help, their high cost and safety risks limit field use. To overcome these shortcomings, we developed a low-cost, safe permeability-enhanced-dispersion (PD) technique that first loosens and disperses the scale and then applies acid for thorough cleanup. The PD fluid (DL) contains a mutually soluble fatty alcohol amide phosphate dispersant (DL-F), ethanol, a surfactant blend, and a self-generating acid.

This paper presents a metal-free synthetic protocol for assembling novel benzofuro[2,3-]pyridin-3-ols (BFPYOLs) using 2,3-disubstituted benzofuran derivatives with good yield. The method's advantages include the absence of an expensive metal catalyst, organic ligands, and easily accessible starting materials. The photophysical properties of the synthesized BFPYOLs are investigated, revealing that the largest is displayed by compound 7g at 389 nm, while the largest is observed in compound 7i at 494 nm in DMSO solvent.
