Objective: Severity and outcome of stroke may be associated with a concomitant or subsequent inflammatory response. C-reactive protein (CRP) may correlate with length of stay (LOS) in hospital, indicating increased complexity of stroke patients with an ongoing inflammatory reaction upon admission.
Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study used data from admissions to the non-comprehensive Stroke Unit, which receives patients ineligible for revascularization therapy at Herlev-Gentofte hospital, in 2019 and 2020.

Backgrounds: The management of non-culprit vessels (NCV) among individuals with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remains an unsolved problem. Angiography-derived physiological assessments developed recently may help address this issue. Our study aims to measure angiography-derived fractional flow reserve (Angio-FFR) and angiography-derived index of microcirculatory resistance (Angio-IMR) in NCVs of AMI patients and explore their prognostic values and necessity.

Although intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD) have long been considered distinct clinical entities, emerging evidence reveals significant overlap in their etiologies and imaging markers. This review aims to explore the relationship between ICH and cSVD, suggesting that ICH may represent an acute manifestation of small vessel disease. ICH is primarily caused by cerebral amyloid angiopathy and hypertension, while cSVD is mainly attributed to cerebral amyloid angiopathy and arteriolosclerosis.

The potential of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke has been demonstrated; however, their clinical efficacy remains inconsistent and further comprehensive studies on their mechanism of action are warranted. In this study, the intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) rat model was used for intravenous infusion of adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (AD-MSCs) 24 h after modeling. Histopathological techniques and single cell transcriptome sequencing techniques were used to study the mechanism of AD-MSCs promoting the repair of damaged brain tissue.

Importance: Current guidelines recommend against the routine use of seizure prophylaxis in acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH).
Objective: The goal of this study is to evaluate if the use of prophylactic levetiracetam resulted in reduced incidence of seizure, morbidity, and length of stay, compared to patients who did not receive prophylactic levetiracetam.
Design: This retrospective chart review includes patients admitted with ICH at Cleveland Clinic Florida Martin Health from January 2019 to October 2022.
