Importance: Current guidelines recommend against the routine use of seizure prophylaxis in acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH).
Objective: The goal of this study is to evaluate if the use of prophylactic levetiracetam resulted in reduced incidence of seizure, morbidity, and length of stay, compared to patients who did not receive prophylactic levetiracetam.
Design: This retrospective chart review includes patients admitted with ICH at Cleveland Clinic Florida Martin Health from January 2019 to October 2022.
Background: There is a growing consensus that blood in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is deleterious to outcomes in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The extracorporeal filtration of subarachnoid hemorrhage via spinal catheter extension study evaluated the safety, tolerability, and filtration curve of blood and its lysis products from hemorrhagic CSF using the Neurapheresis CSF Management System.
Methods: After aneurysm repair, a dual-lumen intrathecal catheter was inserted into the study participant's spinal canal.

Testosterone supplementation has increased in recent years for both treatment of hypogonadism and recreational use. Strokes in young adults have similarly increased with a larger proportion of patients in this age group having a stroke due to early onset of cardiovascular risk factors or unrelated to conventional risks. Hormonal treatments are associated with increased stroke risk amongst women, with some studies indicating an increase in stroke risk as high as 40% when compared to non-users.

It is associated with immunodeficiency, diabetes mellitus, iron overload, stem cell transplantation and the use of steroids. As cultures and histopathological biopsy may have low yield in invasive fungal infections, new generation sequencing of cfDNA (cell free deoxyribonucleic acid) has become a cornerstone for diagnosis.

Background And Objectives: RCVS (Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstrictive Syndrome) is a condition associated with vasoactive agents that alter endothelial function. There is growing evidence that endothelial inflammation contributes to cerebrovascular disease in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In our study, we describe the clinical features, risk factors, and outcomes of RCVS in a multicenter case series of patients with COVID-19.

Background: Endogenous apolipoprotein (apo) E mediates neuroinflammatory responses and recovery after brain injury. Exogenously administered apoE-mimetic peptides effectively penetrate the central nervous system compartment and downregulate acute inflammation. CN-105 is a novel apoE-mimetic pentapeptide with excellent evidence of functional and histological improvement in preclinical models of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).

The Care and Communication Bundle (CCB) of Quality Indicators provides a standardized process to deliver effective palliative care services in ICUs, but application of these indicators in this setting has not yet been systemically assessed. To evaluate the fit of a CCB in the neuro-ICU through a novel scoring system and identify barriers to adherence.
