An important adaptation for diabetes patients is the consumption of artificial sweetener aspartame, which is present in more than thousands of food products and medicines. Several studies have shown diverse side effects of aspartame, and it is also known to form amyloid-like cytotoxic and cross-seeding-competent nanostructures. Here, we reveal a direct crosstalk between aspartame and insulin that induces their cross-seeding and coaggregation events.

Insulins (human insulin and insulin analogues), widely used as hypoglycemic agents in the treatment of diabetes, can cause unexplained glycemic disorder. The medical laboratory then has a major role in determining and quantifying insulins. However, this is challenging, since pre-analytic and analytic aspects are specific, and appropriate interpretation is complex.

Conditional ablation of Igf1r in early folliculogenesis has demonstrated the necessity of insulin signaling to progress to the antral stage, whereas ablation of both Insr and Igfr1 in the periovulatory window allows the formation of the antrum but reduces the efficiency of ovulation and subsequent luteinization. For this study, we examined the independent and shared actions in single and double knockouts (DKO) for Insr and Ifg1r using Esr2-Cre. As this recombinase is active during neonatal ovarian development and the initial wave of folliculogenesis, we hypothesized that abnormalities in ovary formation and establishment of the initial follicle pool would occur, which could alter female reproductive lifespan.

Background: As the immune response product to food antigens, food-specific serum immunoglobulin G reactivity (FSsIgGR) has been reported the clinical relevance to metabolic disorders, but its connections to metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) remain underexplored, particularly within Chinese populations. Understanding this association could facilitate personal diet modification for MAFLD treatment. We investigated the association between FSsIgGR and MAFLD and the mediating roles of plasma glucose markers, specifically fasting blood glucose (FPG) and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c).
