Background: Impaired autophagic flux is an essential contributor to doxorubicin (DOX)-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC). TFEB is recognized as a key regulator of DOX-induced autolysosome accumulation; however, the mechanisms by which DOX suppresses TFEB expression remain unclear. 20-Deoxyingenol (20-DOI) is a small-molecule compound whose potential protective effects against DIC has not yet been elucidated.

CYP303A1 is vital for metamorphosis in Locusta migratoria and Drosophila melanogaster. Here we uncovered that RNA interference (RNAi) against Hvcyp303a1 in the third instar larvae in a Coleopteran Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata caused severe phenotypic defects. The Hvcyp303a1 RNAi larvae grew slowly, had thin head capsule and soft scoli, and ate less potato foliage.

Rivers reflect natural-anthropogenic interactions, yet how urbanization affects riverine bacterial communities along rural-urban gradients is poorly understood. This study examined bacterial diversity and assembly mechanisms along such a gradient of river sediments. Results showed that bacterial diversity significantly decreased with increasing urban influence.

Emerging evidence indicates that apelin, an adipokine, plays a critical role in numerous biological functions and may hold potential for therapeutic applications; however, its efficacy is constrained by rapid plasma degradation. Thus, the search for novel apelin analogues with reduced susceptibility to plasma degradation is ongoing. We have previously shown novel modified apelin-13 analogues, providing exciting opportunities for potential therapeutic development against Alzheimer's disease.
