The integration of nanotechnology with photoredox medicine has led to the emergence of biocompatible semiconducting polymer nanoparticles (SPNs) for the optical modulation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, the need for efficient photoactive materials capable of finely controlling the intracellular redox status with high spatial resolution at a nontoxic light density is still largely unmet. Herein, highly photoelectrochemically efficient photoactive polymer beads are developed. The photoactive material/electrolyte interfacial area is maximized by designing porous semiconducting polymer nanoparticles (PSPNs). PSPNs are synthesized by selective hydrolysis of the polyester segments of nanoparticles made of poly(3-hexylthiophene)--poly(lactic acid) (P3HT--PLA). The photocurrent of PSPNs is 4.5-fold higher than that of nonporous P3HT--PLA-SPNs, and PSPNs efficiently reduce oxygen in an aqueous environment. PSPNs are internalized within endothelial cells and optically trigger ROS generation with a >1.3-fold concentration increase with regard to nonporous P3HT-SPNs, at a light density as low as a few milliwatts per square centimeter, fully compatible with , chronic applications.

[Cu(3-bph)(PABA)(HO)] () (3-bph = ,'-bis(3-pyridylmethylene)hydrazine and PABA = -amino benzoate) is a pyridyl-N bridging Cu coordination polymer, and PABA acts as a carboxylate-O donor forming a square pyramidal CuNO motif following a zigzag one-dimensional (1D) lattice. The shows weak antiferromagnetic coupling ( = -0.196(1) cm), and emission appears at 352 nm (λ = 293 nm), which is selectively quenched by Fe via the FRET mechanism.

Breast cancer is a global health challenge necessitating more precise and effective treatment strategies. In this study, we developed a novel drug-loaded therapeutic nanoplatform, OCPdots@CTe, which integrated near-infrared-II (NIR-II) window phototheranostic for targeted treatment of orthotopic breast tumors. The outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) can stimulate more immune responses based on precise targeting, while chelerythrine (CTe) can induce apoptosis by generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby enhancing the therapeutic effect.

Three polymorphs of a semiconducting Cd(II)-thiolate coordination polymer with the formula [Cd(2-SNPh)] (2-HSNPh = 2-naphthalenethiol) have been reported. Single-crystal X-ray structural analysis revealed that adopts a one-dimensional (1D) structure composed of single-strand (-Cd-S-) ladder chains, whereas adopts a 1D architecture with double-strand (-Cd-S-) chains assembled through S···S interactions. In contrast, microcrystal electron diffraction analysis demonstrated that , obtained through thermal treatment of and , exhibits the formation of a 1D structure comprising triple-strand (-Cd-S-) chains, also formed via S···S interactions.

The development of activatable optical probes has proved to be a promising approach to improve the accuracy of phototheranostics. However, most such probes are usually responsive to single pathological factor and visible-near-infrared-I light upon activation, which restricts the theranostic specificity and tissue penetration depth, respectively. Herein, we develop a nitric oxide (NO) and acidity dual-stimuli responsive semiconducting polymer nanoprobe for activatable near-infrared-II (NIR-II) photoacoustic imaging (PAI) and photothermal therapy (PTT).

With the rapid advancement of electronic device miniaturization, materials are required to possess stronger conductivity at smaller scales. Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have drawn significant interest due to their outstanding theoretical electrical properties. However, improving their electrical performance remains a significant challenge.
