The prevalence of alcohol-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been increasing during the last decade. Cancer research requires cell lines suitable for both and assays. However, there is a lack of cell lines with a high metastatic capacity for this HCC subtype. Herein, a new HCC cell line was established, named HCC-ZJ, using cells from a patient diagnosed with alcohol-related HCC. The karyotype of HCC-ZJ was 46, XY, del (p11.2). Whole-exome sequencing identified several genetic variations in HCC-Z that occur frequently in alcohol-associated HCC, such as mutations in , , , , , and . Cell counting kit-8 assays, colony formation assays, and Transwell assays were performed to evaluate the proliferation, migration, and sensitivity to sorafenib and lenvatinib of HCC-Z . HCC-ZJ showed a robust proliferation rate, a weak foci-forming ability, a strong migration capacity, and a moderate invasion tendency . Finally, the tumorigenicity and metastatic capacity of HCC-Z were evaluated using a subcutaneous xenograft model, an orthotopic xenograft model, and a tail-veil injection model. HCCZJ exhibited strong tumorigenicity in the subcutaneous xenograft and orthotopic tumor models. Moreover, HCC-ZJ spontaneously formed pulmonary metastases in the orthotopic tumor model. In summary, a new HCC cell line derived from a patient with alcohol-related HCC was established, which showed a high metastatic capacity and could be applied for and experiments during pre-clinical research.• An alcohol-related HCC cell line, HCC-ZJ, was established• HCC-ZJ was applicable for functional experiment and gene editing• HCC-ZJ was applicable for tumor growth and spontaneous metastasis models.

Background: Pain following pediatric adenotonsillectomy is prevalent, frequently severe, and often inadequately managed. The effectiveness of propofol or sevoflurane anesthesia in acute postoperative pain management is unknown.
Methods: We conducted a single-blind, randomized controlled trial to examine the postoperative analgesic effectiveness of propofol or sevoflurane anesthesia.

Background: In the clinical practice of Korean Medicine, pharmacopuncture therapy and acupotomy (PA) are being increasingly explored as potential treatment options for degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of combining PA with conventional Korean Medicine treatment (CKMT) in patients with degenerative LSS.
Methods: A pragmatic, assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial was conducted with 104 participants aged 40-75 years diagnosed with degenerative LSS.

The present research reports the synthesis of poly-[ethylene oxide]-based composite films (500 μm) containing metal nanoparticles (NPs) [Ag ( ∼ 6 nm), Cu ( ∼ 25 nm), and Fe ( ∼ 35 nm)] as the mobile phase. The novelty of the study is in the corroboration of a plausible mechanism for the generation of metal NPs through green synthesis using herbal extracts of (Tea) and (Neem). Density functional theory (DFT) is used to optimize the phytoreductants present in both biosources, wherein the reducing and/or stabilizing functional entities are primarily hydroxyl groups (-OH).

Microfluidic platforms have emerged as powerful tools for investigating complex interactions between cells and their microenvironment. Conventional cancer models often fail to accurately replicate the complexities of the tumor microenvironment. In contrast, cancer-metastasis-on-a-chip models integrate the benefits of three-dimensional cell cultures with microfluidic technology, providing more physiologically relevant platforms for studying cancer biology and improving precision of drug screening.
