The cross-linking point of a conventional chemical cross-linking agent is fixed. Therefore, gels that are prepared with a conventional cross-linking agent have poor deformability, strength, shear resistance, and further properties. Some researchers have prepared a new cross-linking agent using cyclodextrin (CD). In a polyrotaxane cross-linking agent, the cross-linking points can slide freely along the molecule chain. The special "slide ring" structure can provide better elongation, strength, and other properties to gels, which can effectively expand the application of the gel's materials. This paper summarizes the preparation methods and applications from different types of CD and compares the improvements of properties (swelling, viscoelastic properties, etc.). In addition, the current results of our group are presented, and some ideas are provided for the development of polyrotaxane cross-linking agents.

Tires are complex polymeric materials composed of rubber elastomers (both natural and synthetic), fillers, steel wire, textiles, and a range of antioxidant and curing systems. These constituents are distributed differently among the various tire parts, which are classified based on their function and proximity to the rim. This study presents a rapid and sensitive approach for the characterization of tire components using mild thermal desorption/pyrolysis (TDPy) coupled to direct analysis in real-time mass spectrometry (DART-MS).

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Resveratrol, a polyphenolic stilbene derivative found in grapes, red wine, and other plants, possesses anti-cancer properties. Various studies have reported the potential of different nanomaterials to act as radiosensitizers against tumor cells.

As a natural biodegradable polymer derived from animal proteins, gelatin exhibits significant potential in environmentally friendly food packaging. This review briefly outlines the preparation and cross-linking methods of gelatin, explores the regulatory mechanisms of different cross-linking strategies on material properties, and analyzes the multi-form application characteristics of gelatin in packaging, elucidating its structure-property relationships. Additionally, this review summarizes intelligent active packaging systems based on gelatin, which integrate bioactive substances (, antimicrobial agents, pH indicators) to achieve real-time food freshness monitoring and shelf-life extension.

Reconciliation of the elasticity, reinforcement, and recyclability in elastomer nanocomposites (ENCs) remains challenging, primarily due to the energy losses of the friction at polymer-nanoparticle interfaces and the permanent covalent cross-linking. Here, a self-adaptive soft interface strategy is introduced, using modulus-tuned polymer nanoparticles (PNPs) as reinforcement agents and interfacial chemical cross-linking sites within a vitrimer elastomer matrix. Such a framework promotes synergistic deformation of the PNPs with the matrix chains during mechanical deformation to minimize energy dissipation.
