In recent years, gel-electrolyte becomes pivotal in preventing hydrogen evolution, reducing dendrite growth, and protecting the zinc metal anode for zinc-ion batteries. Herein, a polyvinyl alcohol-based water-organic hybrid gel electrolyte with Agar and dimethyl sulfoxide is designed to construct the spontaneous desaturation of the solvation sheath for reducing hydrogen evolution and dendrite growth at room temperature and even low temperature. According to experimental characterization and theoretical calculations, the well binding between multihydroxy polymer and H O is achieved in the hybrid desaturated gel-electrolyte to regulate the inner and outer sheath. The ionic conductivity of hybrid gel-electrolyte reaches 7.4 mS cm even at -20 °C with only 0.5 m zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate (Zn(OTf) ). The Zn symmetric cells cycle over 1200 h under 26 and -20 °C with improved mechanical properties and electrochemical performance. The asymmetric Zn || Cu cell with hybrid gel electrolyte reaches ≈99.02% efficiency after 250 cycles. The capacity of full cell is maintained at around 74 mAh g with almost unchanged retention rate from 50 to 300 cycles at -20 °C. This work provides an effective strategy for desaturated solvation to reach anti-freezing and high-density Zn energy storage devices.

SELENON-related myopathy is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterised predominantly by muscle weakness; sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory failure are frequent complications. We report a 15-year-old male with genetically confirmed SELENON-RM and a 12-year history of progressive sleep-related breathing disorders, managed with overnight volume-targeted pressure support (VtPS) positive airway pressure (PAP) plus supplemental oxygen. Longitudinal polysomnography (PSG) revealed evolution from mild REM-predominant hypopneas to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) with hypoventilation.

This study employed a simulation approach to model oxygen delivery in spontaneously breathing patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The Morozoff Model, originally designed for mechanically ventilated patients with a fixed fraction of inspired oxygen (FIO2), was adapted to incorporate the relationship between oxygen flow delivered through nasal cannula and FIO2, along with COPD-specific pathophysiological parameters. The effectiveness of constant and variable oxygen flow delivery was evaluated using a closed-loop control system with a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller.

Introduction: Horner syndrome, a rare complication of pediatric adenotonsillectomy, results from oculosympathetic pathway disruption near the vulnerable superior cervical ganglion. Only 15 cases are documented, highlighting its exceptional rarity but significant clinical relevance.
Case Presentation: A 7-year-old girl underwent routine adenotonsillectomy for recurrent tonsillitis and sleep-disordered breathing, utilizing cold steel dissection and bipolar cautery for hemostasis.

Background: Patients with lung disease can experience hypoxemia on commercial aircraft, which can usually be corrected with supplementary oxygen. In some cases, combinations of medical conditions and inability to deliver oxygen via simple methods can complicate assessment and delivery of flight oxygen.
