An optical vector analyzer (OVA) based on orthogonal polarization interrogation and polarization diversity detection is widely used to measure an optical device's loss, delay, or polarization-dependent features. Polarization misalignment is the OVA's primary error source. Conventional offline polarization alignment using a calibrator greatly reduces the measurement reliability and efficiency. In this Letter, we propose an online polarization error suppression method using Bayesian optimization. Our measurement results are verified by a commercial OVA instrument that uses the offline alignment method. The OVA featuring online error suppression will be widely used in the production of optical devices, not just in the laboratory.

Adolescents spend much of their daily lives online, with social media a central part of their digital environment. While findings are complex, evidence increasingly points to small but relatively consistent harms, particularly for those meeting criteria for problematic use. At the population level, these effects are concerning, given the extraordinary prevalence of exposure to social media, rising rates of problematic use and adolescents' vulnerability to mental ill-health.

Pancreatic cancer is a highly aggressive malignancy with a dismal prognosis, characterized by a complex tumor microenvironment that promotes immunosuppression and limits the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is overexpressed in the tumor stroma and represents a promising target for therapeutic intervention. Here, we developed a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting FAP, and investigated its anti-tumor activity and ability to enhance ICB efficacy in pancreatic cancer.

Motivation: The stability of protein interfaces influences protein dynamics and unfolding cooperativity. Although in some cases the dynamics of proteins can be deduced from their topology, much of the stability of an interface is related to the complementarity of the interacting parts. It is also important to note that proteins that display non-cooperative unfolding cannot be rationally stabilized unless the regions that unfold first are known.

Background: Postoperative late recurrence (POLAR) after 2 years from the date of surgical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) represents a unique surveillance and management challenge. Despite identified risk factors, individualized prediction tools to guide personalized surveillance strategies for recurrence remain scarce. The current study sought to develop a predictive model for late recurrence among patients undergoing HCC resection.

Unlabelled: Marinisomatota (formerly recognized as Marinimicrobia, Marine Group A, and SAR406) are ubiquitous and abundant in marine environments, traditionally characterized as heterotrophic microorganisms. However, certain members of Marinisomatota have demonstrated the capacity to harness light for carbon dioxide fixation and the synthesis of organic compounds, thriving in the translucent zone or transitioning between the translucent and aphotic layers. The metabolic strategies driving the shift in trophic behaviors, and the factors influencing these transitions, remain largely unexplored.
