Subject motion is a significant problem for the analysis of functional MRI data and is usually described by "total displacement" or "scan-to-scan displacement". Neither parameter, however, takes into account voxel size, which clearly is relevant for the actual effects of motion on the data. Consequently, it is hitherto impossible to compare motion between subjects/studies acquired using different voxel dimensions, precluding the development of generally applicable recommendations for fMRI quality control procedures.

Biological models are important in describing species interaction, disease spread, and environmental processes. One key aspect in improving the predictive capability of these models is deciding which parametrization is used to formulate the mathematical model. Considering two distinct functions with similar shapes and the same qualitative properties in a model can lead to markedly different model predictions.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe traumatic disorder of the central nervous system, often resulting in partial or complete loss of sensory and motor functions. Ferroptosis, a lipid peroxidation-driven apoptotic process triggered by iron overload, has emerged as a novel form of programmed cell death and a focal point in post-SCI cell death research. Exosomes (Exo), as delivery vehicles, exhibit multiple advantages, including superior encapsulation capacity, high targeting efficiency, and enhanced blood-brain barrier penetration to reach the central nervous system.

Electrochemical CO reduction (COR) with transition-metal catalysts often suffers from low selectivity for value-added products. Organic layers have been explored to enhance selectivity by modifying local environments and adjusting the CO and CO adsorption, but their role remains unclear due to structural and mechanical instability. Here, we designed a well-defined organic layer model consisting of ∼4 nm-thick covalent organic framework (COF) films with ∼3 nm pores and a cm-scale area.

Purpose: Recent literature has demonstrated that 'low-level red-light therapy' may be effective at slowing axial elongation in children, but reports have questioned the safety of some red-light devices. The current work explored the beam characteristics and hazard potential for a myopia control red-light device.
Methods: The optical design and exiting beam characteristics of a sample red-light myopia control device (SECONEE sky-n1201a) were quantified by measuring beam divergence and total flux passing through artificial pupils of 1-9 mm diameter placed at the corneal plane.
