The appropriate needle device is crucial for obtaining the curative effect of fire needling therapy. The article introduces the material specification, clinical operation, indications, characteristics and advantages of the contemporary traditional fire needling devices (e.g. 's fire needle and 's fire needle) and the contemporary new-type ones (e.g. fire needling with filiform needle and micro-needle); and determines the innovations of modern fire needling. It is anticipated that the needle specifications, production process and operation standard of fire needling devices should be further unified so as to provide the references for the selection of fire needling devices in treatment based on clinical syndrome differentiation and expand the clinical application of fire needling therapy.

This study demonstrates the feasibility of determining soil provenance from tree ash composition using elemental analysis and chemometric techniques. To date, no published studies have applied chemometric approaches to classify ash for provenance determination following forest fires. In this work, ash was analyzed to distinguish samples based on soil type and geographic location.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of fire needling acupuncture (FNA) in alleviating knee osteoarthritis (KOA) symptoms, focusing on the SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathway and macrophage polarization.
Methods: A KOA mouse model was established using anterior cruciate ligament transection and destabilization of the medial meniscus (ACLT + DMM) surgery. After four weeks, FNA was administered twice weekly for another four weeks.

We investigated the molecular mechanism of filiform fire needling therapy (FFN), an effective treatment option for vitiligo, focusing on its role in relieving depigmentation. Firstly, we validated the efficacy and safety of FFN in a study with 11 enrolled vitiligo patients. We then found that the depigmentation score was significantly improved in monobenzone-induced vitiligo mice treated with FFN.
