The utilization of atomically confined plasmonic fields has revolutionized the imaging technique. According to the fundamental position-momentum uncertainty principle, such a narrow spatial distribution certainly leads to a broad momentum distribution in the fields, which has however been overlooked. Here we propose a novel exploitation for the momentum distribution by adaptively satisfying the conservation law of momentum in inelastic Raman scatterings in periodic systems, providing a unique optical means of directly measuring the whole phonon dispersions. The proposed technique is particularly useful for measuring phonon dispersions of low-dimensional hydrogen-rich materials, which are completely inaccessible via other techniques. The numerical results for a single all- polyacetylene chain demonstrate that all phonon dispersion branches can be conclusively measured from their Raman images for the first time. Our findings highlight a unique advantage of the emerging momentum-based nanophotonics and open the door for exploiting highly confined plasmonic fields in another dimension.

We present the first dataset of collisional (de)-excitation rate coefficients of HCN induced by CO, one of the main perturbing gases in cometary atmospheres. The dataset spans the temperature range of 5-50 K. It includes both state-to-state rate coefficients involving the lowest ten and nine rotational levels of HCN and CO, respectively, and the so-called "thermalized" rate coefficients over the rotational population of CO at each kinetic temperature.

The development of therapeutic small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) has lately gained significant momentum due to their ability to silence genes in a highly specific manner. The main obstacle withholding the wider translation of siRNA-based drug modalities is their limited half-life and poor bioavailability, especially in extra-hepatic tissues. Consequently, various drug delivery systems (DDSs) have been developed to improve the delivery of siRNAs, including short delivery peptides called cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs).

With renewables, marine photovoltaic (PV) harnessing solar energy gains momentum, promising vast ocean space for power generation with significant benefits.Recent studies indicate that while marine PV systems are designed to address environmental challenges, they can also cause unintended ecological consequences. Mitigating potential negative impacts on aquatic environments has therefore become a critical research priority.

In this work, we investigate how the crystallographic growth direction influences spin current transmission in antiferromagnetic (AF) NiO thin films. By manipulating epitaxial growth, we explored the spin transport characteristics in LaSrMnO/NiO/Pt heterostructures grown on top of (001)- and (111)-oriented SrTiO substrates, varying the NiO barrier thickness (t). Spin currents were generated via spin pumping (SP), and detection was done by the inverse spin Hall effect (ISHE).

This study presents a data-driven analysis of academic performance, demographic disparities, and predictive modeling among more than 23,000 first-time freshmen at a US public University. We examine multiple factors influencing student outcomes, including GPA, credit accumulation, unit workload, Pell Grant eligibility, minority status, and parent education levels. Our analysis reveals several statistically significant disparities: non-minority students earn more units than minority students in their first two years, and Pell-eligible students accumulate fewer credits than their non-eligible peers.
