A teleost's kidney was divided into head kidney and trunk kidney. The head kidney is an important lymphatic organ, while the trunk kidney mainly performs osmotic pressure regulation and excretion functions. Previous studies have shown that the teleost's head kidney exerts a strong immune response against pathogen invasion, while the mechanism of immune response in the trunk kidney is still rarely reported. Therefore, in this study, we established an Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) immersion infection model to compare the similarities and differences of immune response mechanisms between the head kidney and trunk kidney against viral infection. The results showed that IHNV infection causes severe tissue damage and inflammatory reaction in the head and trunk kidney, triggers a series of interferon cascade reactions, and produces strong immune response. In addition, the transcriptome data showed that the head kidney and trunk kidney had similar immune response mechanisms, which showed that the NOD-like receptor signaling pathway and Toll-like receptor signaling pathway were activated. In conclusion, despite functional differentiation, the teleost's trunk kidney still has a strong immune response, especially the interferon-stimulated genes, which have stronger immune response in the trunk kidney than in the head kidney when responding to IHNV infection. This study contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the teleost immune system and enriches the theory of kidney immunity in teleosts.

Accurate identification of fetal torso ultrasound planes is essential in pre-natal examinations, as it plays a critical role in the early detection of severe fetal malformations and this process is heavily dependent on the clinical expertise of health care providers. However, the limited number of medical professionals skilled at identification and the complexity of fetal plane screening underscore the need for efficient diagnostic support tools. Clinicians often encounter challenges such as image artifacts and the intricate nature of fetal planes, which require adjustments to image gain and contrast to obtain clearer diagnostic information.

Anatomical and clinical records were analyzed to identify cases of anomalous origins of the main renal artery. Instead of typically branching from the abdominal aorta at the vertebral level of L1-L2, the main renal artery can originate from the thoracic aorta, the inferior abdominal aorta (below the L2 vertebra), or from nearby arterial vessels such as the celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, inferior mesenteric artery, or common iliac artery.

The aim of our study is to compare and assess the correlation of preoperative factors, intraoperative events and post-operative outcomes of robot assisted transperitoneal (RATP) and robot assisted retroperitoneal (RARP) partial nephrectomy (PN) in T1 renal cancer. Data from 2609 patients during the period of 10 years who underwent either RATP or RARP partial nephrectomies was retrospectively analyzed. We compared preoperative factors (age, BMI, tumour size/stage, PADUA score, preoperative eGFR, history of previous abdominal and ipsilateral surgery), intraoperative events: operative time (OT), warm ischemia time (WIT), estimated blood loss (EBL), and post-operative outcomes: complications, eGFR, positive surgical margins (PSM), and death due to disease (DOD) or due to other causes (DOC) and survival rates.

An 81-year-old man presented to our hospital with left lower back pain. The computed tomographic scan revealed a retroperitoneal tumor with a heterogeneous contrast effect. Magnetic resonance imaging scan showed that the tumor was suspected to have invaded the left diaphragm, iliopsoas muscle, and pancreas, and an unclear boundary between the tumor and left kidney.

The endovascular surgical approach provides a minimally invasive treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms with less perioperative morbidity. This technique depends heavily on imaging to diagnose, plan surgical treatment, conduct the surgical procedure, and follow-up with patients. Image fusion technique was proposed to decrease radiation and injected contrast exposure; however, the accuracy of image fusion still needs to be improved.
