Selective removal of aromatic contaminants from water matrices poses substantial difficulties in environmental remediation processes, necessitating sophisticated materials with discriminatory molecular recognition properties. Herein, we report a framework-elastomer hybrid membrane containing [Co(4-pmntd)(NO)] (4-pmntd represents ,'-bis(4-pyridylmethyl)naphthalene diimide) designed for effective toluene recovery from trace aqueous environments. Systematic structural analysis employing crystallographic diffraction, gas adsorption measurements, surface electron spectroscopy, and proton nuclear magnetic resonance elucidates the material's architectural characteristics and surface phenomena.

The simultaneous protection of food crops, soil, and water has been an ongoing issue for over 70 years. The technology required for the control of this has been stalled by one key fact. Soil is the ultimate example of physically and chemically irregular mixtures.

Content: In this study, the effects of metal doping (Al, Cu, Fe) on the performance of MFI for adsorption and removal of organic sulfur (carbonyl sulfide (COS), methyl sulfide (CHSH), carbon disulfide (CS), and ethyl mercaptan (CHSH)) were systematically investigated. The mechanisms of metal doping on the adsorption sites and the competing adsorption behaviors were revealed. Under the independent adsorption conditions, Al doping resulted in an enhancement in the adsorption of COS and CS.

Natural gas upgrading requires efficient separation of HS from CO, another acidic impurity, to enhance gas utilization efficiency and enable resource recovery from waste streams. While significant advancements have been achieved in separating HS from CH, the selective removal of HS from CO remains a formidable challenge due to their similar physicochemical properties. Herein, we report a breakthrough strategy utilizing reversible nucleophilic addition reaction between carbonyl group and HS, departing from conventional acid-base interaction-based liquid-phase capture processes.
