Cu-exchanged chabazite is the catalyst of choice for NO abatement in diesel vehicles aftertreatment systems via ammonia-assisted selective catalytic reduction (NH-SCR). Herein, we exploit X-ray absorption spectroscopy powered by wavelet transform analysis and machine learning-assisted fitting to assess the impact of the zeolite composition on NH-mobilized Cu-complexes formed during the reduction and oxidation half-cycles in NH-SCR at 200 °C. Comparatively analyzing well-characterized Cu-CHA catalysts, we show that the Si/Al ratio of the zeolite host affects the structure of mobile dicopper(II) complexes formed during the oxidation of the [Cu(NH)] complexes by O. Al-rich zeolites promote a planar coordination motif with longer Cu-Cu interatomic distances, while at higher Si/Al values, a bent motif with shorter internuclear separations is also observed. This is paralleled by a more efficient oxidation at a given volumetric Cu density at lower Si/Al, beneficial for the NO conversion under NH-SCR conditions at 200 °C.

Zeolite synthesis from fly ash offers recycling and environmental benefits for carbon dioxide capture, but varying fly ash composition from different sources has different compositions, leading to inconsistent adsorption results. To achieve high CO adsorption performance and stability in zeolite synthesis from fly ash systems, this study established an element-controlled simulated fly ash system with Ca/Fe gradient differences. Hydrothermal synthesis yielded zeolites with optimized oxide ratios for CO adsorption.

Pd-zeolites are promising passive NO adsorber (PNA) materials for mitigating cold-start emissions from lean-burn engines. However, their practical deployment is constrained by insufficient densities and dispersion of isolated Pd active sites as well as their susceptibility to hydrothermal degradation and phosphorus poisoning encountered in vehicle exhaust environments. Herein, we develop a rationally engineered core-shell Pd/SSZ-13@AlO composite, featuring a Pd/SSZ-13 core encapsulated within a mesoporous AlO shell.

As living standards continue to rise, the demand for advanced cotton textiles that fulfill enhanced functional requirements has grown significantly. Therefore, the development of multifunctional antibacterial/hydrophobic cotton fabrics holds considerable practical value. In this study, a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-8) based hybrid material, ZIF/SiO-LDS (Long-chain derivative of silane), was synthesized via a co-precipitation method using silica, zinc nitrate hexahydrate, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (KH-550), 2-methylimidazole and hexadecyltrimethylsilane (HDTMS).

Herein, ball-milled magnetic biochar-vermiculite composite (MBC@VT) and ball-milled magnetic biochar-zeolite composite (MBC@ZT) were synthesized via one-step ball-milling, and their adsorption capacities for Pb(II)/P-nitrophenol (PNP) in water were compared. The results demonstrated that the removal of Pb(II) and PNP through both materials was a complex, endothermic reaction mainly driven by chemisorption, with strong tolerance to pH changes and co-existing ions. MBC@VT showed superior adsorption for Pb(II) (reaching 367.

In this study, Arthrospira platensis (A. platensis) was cultivated for over 130 days in an experimental greenhouse using open raceway ponds and closed column photobioreactors. A culture medium composed of liquid digestate pretreated with natural zeolite and diluted with geothermal water was evaluated as an alternative to conventional synthetic media for cyanobacteria cultivation.
