Article Abstract

C2H2 zinc finger protein (C2H2-ZFP) is one of the most important transcription factor families in higher plants. In this study, a total of 145 was identified in and randomly distributed on 10 chromosomes. Based on the phylogenetic tree, these zinc finger gene family members were divided into 11 clades, and the gene structure and motif composition of in the same clade were similar. members located in the same clade contained similar intron/exon and motif patterns. Thirty-three tandem duplicated and 24 pairs of segmental duplicated genes were identified. Moreover, synteny analysis showed that sorghum had more collinear regions with monocotyledonous plants such as maize and rice than did dicotyledons such as soybean and Arabidopsis. Furthermore, we used quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) to analyze the expression of in different organs and demonstrated that the genes responded to cold and drought. For example, might be activated by cold but is inhibited in drought in the stems and leaves. This work not only revealed an important expanded gene family in but also provides a research basis for determining the role of in sorghum development and abiotic stress resistance.

Objectives: Increasing detection of low-risk papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is associated with overdiagnosis and overtreatment. N6-methyladenosine (mA)-mediated microRNA (miRNA) dysregulation plays a critical role in tumor metastasis and progression. However, the functional role of mA-miRNAs in PTC remains unclear.

Early-branching eukaryotes are associated with the early branching events during eukaryogenesis. Understanding their genomic diversity and evolution can provide insights into the origin and speciation of eukaryotes. Ciliated protists (ciliates) are a group of early-branching unicellular eukaryotes with a high biodiversity, making them excellent models for evolutionary studies.

Gynecologic malignancies are prone to metastasis and recurrence due to the low efficacy and sensitivity of current clinical treatments. Here, we construct ultrasmall Sb@Au nanodots (Sb@Au NDs) as a metallothionein 2A (MT 2A)-silencing nanoagonist for effective photothermal immunotherapy of gynecologic malignancies. Sb@Au NDs show high photothermal conversion efficiency of 56.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading cancers worldwide, and its development is strongly associated with the tumour microenvironment, particularly fibrosis and chronic inflammation. This study aims to investigate the role of the Hedgehog (Hh) pathway, a key signalling pathway in HCC progression, in the interaction between HCC cells and monocytes, which are central players in inflammation. Using a transwell migration assay, GLI1, the downstream transcriptional effector of the Hh pathway in HCC cells, was found to promote the migration of THP-1 monocyte cells.

Background: Response to immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) in sarcomas is overall low and heterogeneous. Understanding determinants of ICI outcomes may improve efficacy and patient selection. Thus, we investigated whether the expression of transposable elements (TEs), which are epigenetically silenced and can stimulate antitumor immunity, influence ICI outcomes and immune infiltrates in common sarcoma subtypes.
