Background: Identification of clinical signs and biomarkers predicting the onset of paediatric atopic dermatitis (AD) is important for disease prevention strategies. Hyperlinear palms, a minor Hanifin & Rajka criterion, are characterized by an increased number and depth of skin creases and have been associated with both filaggrin gene (FLG) mutations and AD.
Objectives: To investigate whether distinct palmar phenotypes in infancy are associated with AD in early childhood.

Background: Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a common immunobullous disease that mainly affects older people; however, the molecular pathogenesis of the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT) pathway in BP is not fully understood.
Objectives: To characterize the immune profiles of and the key JAK/STAT pathway in patients with BP. The clinical efficacy of JAK inhibition in patients with BP was also assessed.

BACKGROUNDReversal reactions (RRs) in leprosy are acute immune episodes marked by inflammation and bacterial clearance, offering a model to study the dynamics of host responses to Mycobacterium leprae. These episodes are often severe and difficult to treat, frequently progressing to permanent disabilities. We aimed to characterize the immune mechanisms and identify antimicrobial effectors during RRs.

Objectives: Skeletal muscle fat infiltration (myosteatosis) is a clinical condition distinct from visceral and hepatic lipid accumulation and contributes to metabolic dysregulation, sarcopenia, and frailty in people with HIV (PWH). Altered subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) function contributes to visceral fat deposition and hepatic steatosis, but there are few data on SAT gene expression and myosteatosis in PWH on long-term antiretroviral therapy (ART).
Design: A longitudinal analysis of 40 PWH on contemporary ART with sustained viral suppression to assess relationships between SAT gene transcripts and computed tomography (CT) imaging of skeletal muscle density, where lower density indicates higher lipid content, and area.

Advancements in genomics and proteomics now enable the identification of proteins associated with cardiomyopathy, offering valuable insights for its diagnosis and treatment. However, numerous potential pathogenic proteins remain unidentified, underscoring the need for further exploration of novel drug targets for cardiomyopathy.
