Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in infants, elicits a remarkably weak innate immune response. This is partly due to type I interferon (IFN) antagonism by the non-structural RSV NS1 protein. It was recently suggested that NS1 could modulate host transcription via an interaction with the MED25 subunit of the Mediator complex.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 virus poses a continuing global public health threat due to its outbreaks in poultry farms and zoonotic transmission from birds to humans. In the quest of effective therapeutics against H5N1 infection, antibodies with broad neutralizing activity have attracted significant attention. In this study, we employed a phage display technique to select and identify VHH antibodies with specific neutralizing activity against H5N1 hemagglutinin (HA) from an immune llama-derived antibody library.

In this study, we describe the synthesis and characterization of the mononuclear complexes [ )], [ ], and [ ], where = (2-((2-hydroxybenzylidene)-amino)-phenol). The structural analysis of these complexes was carried out utilizing mass spectrometry, H NMR, C NMR, P NMR, UV-visible, and FT-IR. All three complexes were investigated as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in 1 M HCl.

Multimodal phototheranostics has been recognized as one of the most momentous advances in cancer treatment. Of particular interest is a single molecular species simultaneously featuring in multiple imaging and synergistic phototherapies; the development of such a molecular species is nevertheless a formidably challenging task. Herein, we innovatively designed and synthesized three aggregation-induced emission (AIE)-active molecules with emission in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) window, by employing 10-indeno[1,2-][1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-]quinoxalin-10-one as the electron acceptor, 4-(-butyl)--(4-(-butyl)phenyl)--phenylaniline as the electron donor, and different π-bridge moieties.
