Rapid Copolymer Analysis of Unresolved Mass Spectra by Artificial Intelligence.

Anal Chem

September 2025

Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1, H-4032 Debrecen, Hungary.

In this Article, we present a novel data analysis method for the determination of copolymer composition from low-resolution mass spectra, such as those recorded in the linear mode of time-of-flight (TOF) mass analyzers. Our approach significantly extends the accessible molecular weight range, enabling reliable copolymer composition analysis even in the higher mass regions. At low resolution, the overlapping mass peaks in the higher mass range hinder a comprehensive characterization of the copolymers.

Background: Smoking induces inflammation in the heart and intima layer of blood vessels by activating nuclear factor kappa B, which controls the transcription of immunoglobulin free light chain (FLC)-κ. FLC levels are indicative of higher mortality in the overall population and poorer prognoses in cardiovascular diseases. This study aimed to analyze the effect of smoking cessation (SC) on the levels of FLCs and markers of inflammation and heart failure.

Background: Remote services (in which the patient and staff member are not physically colocated) and digital services (in which a patient encounter is digitally mediated in some way) were introduced extensively when the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020. We undertook a longitudinal qualitative study of the introduction, embedding, evolution and abandonment of remote and digital innovations in United Kingdom general practice. This synoptic paper summarises study design, methods, key findings, outputs and impacts to date.

Advances, challenges, and future directions in trauma-related Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable (FAIR) data efforts.

J Trauma Stress

September 2025

Center of Alcohol and Substance Use Studies, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Piscataway, New Jersey, USA.

Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) data advances are becoming more common and more important across research fields given the large amount of research data in need of synthesis and application. Many novel methods improve the efficiency and accuracy of data reuse, combination, and synthesis, which is necessary given that there are over 500 published randomized controlled trials of posttraumatic stress disorder treatments in adults; however, these methods are still relatively new to the field of traumatic stress research. We provide a brief overview of relevant FAIR data efforts from other fields and within trauma health care and research; share examples of trauma-related FAIR data efforts to demonstrate recent advances and challenges; and suggest potential next steps to continue making trauma data more FAIR.

Many traditional classification networks directly use the limb two-lead signal (MLII) ECG signals as input for training. However, this method suffers from reduced accuracy when ECG features are not obvious, especially for premature heartbeats. To solve the issue, this paper proposed a novel network, namely CDLR-Net, that combines a Deep Residual Shrinkage Network (DRSN) with a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM).
