Gastrosplenic fistula is a rare complication, most often secondary to gastric or splenic lymphoma. Severe gastrosplenic fistula can cause life-threatening upper gastrointestinal bleeding, making early diagnosis and intervention critical for a favorable prognosis. Currently, surgical intervention remains the primary treatment; however, outcomes are often suboptimal.

Ion Luminescent Micelles: A Surfactant-Mediated Double-End Signal Amplification Strategy for Portable Detection of Phoxim.

Residues of organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) raise considerable concern, while achieving high enough detection sensitivity is still a challenge for on-site fluorescence techniques. Herein, we report a "double-end samplification" strategy by encapsulating a low-emission fluorescent ion probe [DCF][P] into a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) hydrophobic core to form ionic luminescent micelles. At the probe end, ionic liquid micelles locally concentrated the probes, achieving a 350-fold fluorescence enhancement.

Background: Thymolipoma is a rare benign anterior mediastinal tumour composed of thymic and adipose tissue, accounting for only 2-9% of thymic neoplasms (Mohamud et al., J Surg Case Rep 2020,2020; Shrivastava and Ntiamoah, Radiol Case Rep 15:1538-1540, 2020). Patients are often asymptomatic, and these masses are often detected incidentally.

A dual Fabry-Perot interferometric fiber-optic pressure sensor with temperature compensation is proposed for high-precision measurement. By integrating two Fabry-Perot sensors within a specialized encapsulation structure to form a pressure measurement cavity and a temperature reference cavity, the system effectively decouples pressure and temperature effects on cavity length. The detection of pressure and temperature variations is achieved through cavity length demodulation of the acquired spectral data using a multi-extrema-tracing algorithm.

This work derives and validates a noise model that encapsulates the deadtime of non-paralyzable detectors with random photon arrivals to enable advanced processing, such as maximum-likelihood estimation, of high-resolution atmospheric lidar profiles, while accounting for deadtime bias. This estimator was validated across a wide dynamic range at high resolution (4 mm in range and 17 ms in time). Experiments demonstrate that the noise model outperforms the current state-of-the-art for very short time-of-flight (2 ns) and extended targets (1 µs).
