Genetic susceptibility of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a meta genome-wide association study in Asian population.

Leukemia

March 2025

Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital (Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences), Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, 510080, Guangdong, China.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive malignancy and the most common form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) that occurs worldwide. To discover risk factors and pathogenesis of DLBCL, we performed the largest GWAS of DLBCL to date in samples of East Asian ancestry, consisting of 2,888 patients with DLBCL and 12,458 controls. The meta-analysis identified three novel loci, rs2233434 on 6p21.

The CoV-Y domain of SARS-CoV-2 Nsp3 interacts with BRAP to stimulate NF-κB signaling and induce host inflammatory responses.

Int J Biol Macromol

November 2024

National Clinical Research Center for Geriatrics, and State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Electronic address:

Non-structural protein 3 (Nsp3) is the largest protein encoded by the coronavirus (CoV) genome. It consists of multiple domains that perform critical functions during the viral life cycle. CoV-Y is the most C-terminal domain of Nsp3, and it exhibits evolutionary conservation across diverse CoVs; however, the exact biological function of CoV-Y remains unclear.

Background: Drug addiction is a serious problem worldwide and is influenced by genetic factors. The present study aimed to investigate the association between genetics and drug addiction among Han Chinese.

Methods: A total of 1000 Chinese users of illicit drugs and 9693 healthy controls were enrolled and underwent single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-based and haplotype-based association analyses via whole-genome genotyping.

Structural atherosclerosis, as evaluated by carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), is reported to be positively associated with hypertension. However, angiogenesis, which plays an important role in the progression of structural atherosclerosis, prevents hypertension by reducing peripheral vascular resistance. These associations evoke a contradiction: characteristics associated with the progression of structural atherosclerosis, which is related to hypertension, might prevent hypertension.

Bombesin receptor-activated protein (BRAP) and its homologous protein in mice, which is encoded by gene, were expressed abundantly in brain tissues with unknown functions. We treated mice with chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) to test whether those mice were more vulnerable to stress-related disorders. The results of forced swimming test, sucrose preference test, and open field test showed that after being treated with CUMS for 28 days or 35 days both and mice exhibited behavioural changes and there was no significant difference between and .
