Purpose: The purposes of the study were to introduce surgical technique of fragment-specific fixation technique using multiple 2.7-mm variable-angle locking compression plates (VA LCPs) in comminuted posterior wall acetabular fractures and reported its clinical results.
Patients And Methods: Among the 68 patients, 23 with comminuted posterior wall factures with ≥ 3 fragments in the CT scan and no column involvement with a minimum follow-up duration of 12 months were enrolled in this study. We evaluated the clinical results after the treatment of comminuted posterior wall acetabular fractures via the fragment-specific fixation technique using 2.7-mm variable-angle locking compression plates (VA LCPs) retrospectively.
Results: The average duration of follow-up was 26.8 months. Anatomical reduction was achieved in eighteen patients. Imperfect reduction was achieved in five patients. 22 patients achieved fracture union and one patient underwent revision surgery owing to acute postoperative infection. There were no complications, including loss of reduction, fixative failures, sciatic nerve palsy, heterotopic ossification, and early posttraumatic arthritis among 22 patients. The average functional outcome was measured as 'very good'.
Conclusion: Fragment-specific fixation technique using 2.7-mm VA LCPs for comminuted posterior wall acetabular fractures could be an acceptable alternative means of surgical fixation.

This study aims to establish a classification-based Bundle-Weaving Zonal Fixation system to facilitate the precise treatment of PCLTAF.

Background: Complex lower limb injuries involving soft tissue defects, fractures, and vascular compromise present significant reconstructive challenges. Free tissue transfer is often the gold standard for reconstruction; however, reverse sural cross-leg flaps provide a reliable alternative in resource-limited settings or when the recipient's vessels are compromised. This case series highlights the utility of this technique in challenging scenarios, including comminuted fractures, vascular injuries, and extensive soft tissue defects.

Objective: To identify risk factors and develop a scoring system based on static x-rays that can predict late displacement and deformity of non-operatively treated Young-Burgess lateral compression type 1 (LC1) pelvic ring injuries METHODS: A retrospective review of all non-operatively treated low-energy LC1 (AO/OTA 61-B2/B3) pelvic ring injuries in patients aged ≥50 associated with incomplete zone 1 sacral fractures and minimum three-month follow-up between January 2019 through January 2024 from two academic level 1 trauma centers. Exclusion criteria were non-acute presentations, nonunions, pathological fractures and non-ambulatory patients. Anterior-posterior, inlet and outlet radiographic imaging at initial, post-operative and final follow-up were assessed.

The Aim Of The Study: Falls from standing height are understood as incidents where a person in an upright or nearly upright position collapses, striking a hard surface. The aim of the study was to verify the hypothesis that skull fractures resulting from such events typically manifest as a single crack, while the presence of other types of fractures may indicate a different injury mechanism than a simple fall.
