Background: Valvular heart disease (VHD), including both non-rheumatic valvular heart disease (NRVHD) and rheumatic valvular heart disease (RVHD), is a major global health concern. Moreover, the progression of VHD to heart failure (HF) poses substantial clinical and public health challenges. In light of the global population aging, alongside increasing cardiovascular risk factors, and the additional strain imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, a timely reassessment of the VHD-related HF burden is urgently needed.

While grip strength is a key marker of sarcopenia and has been linked to PD risk and progression, its relationship with underlying neurodegenerative processes remains unclear. This study examines whether grip strength is impaired in PD and reflects disease severity or dopaminergic function.

Background: The expression and clinical correlation of BRAFV600E mutation and programmed cell death-1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) in children with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) have been reported, but the conclusions of previous studies are inconsistent. In addition, it has been reported that elevated cathepsin S (CTSS) expression is associated with various cancers. However, there is currently no research on the correlation between CTSS and LCH.
