In this paper, the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) behavior of luminol/H O system in the presence of bromhexine hydrochloride (BrH) was investigated. It was found that the ECL intensity of luminol/H O system on a platinum electrode could be intensely quenched by BrH owing to the scavenging superoxide radical ability of BrH, and therefore the sensitive determination of BrH was possible. Under optimal conditions, the quenched ECL intensity was linear to the concentration of BrH in a wide range of 0.08 to 500 μM, with a detection limit of 0.02 μM (signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) = 3). This ECL method possessed the merits of rapid, simple and sensitive, and was successfully applied to the BrH quantification in pharmaceutical preparations with satisfactory recoveries of 91.0 ± 4.0 to 106.5 ± 3.4%. The possible route of the quenched ECL of luminol/H O in the presence of BrH was also discussed.

Educational materials advocating whole-body donation must be accurate, easy to read, and transparent, as one potential solution to the fact that the supply of donations is not keeping pace with educational demand, thereby disrupting anatomy education programs. The use of AI technologies to supplement communications with prospective donors and next of kin deserves investigation to determine whether LLM-based approaches meet the common requirements for effective communication. This study contributes to the limited literature on LLM-supported communications by presenting a comparative quantitative benchmark and an adaptable evaluation framework.

Objective: This study analyzed data from the US population to examine how oral microbiome diversity and diet quality individually and synergistically affect frailty.
Methods: This study included 6,283 participants aged 20 years or older from the 2009-2010 and 2011-2012 NHANES cycles. A frailty index (FI) consisting of 36 items was developed, with items related to nutritional status excluded.

Introduction: Rhinovirus (RV) is the leading cause of exacerbations of lung disease. A sensory neuronal model, derived from human dental pulp stem cells and differentiated into peripheral neuronal equivalents (PNEs), was used to examine RV's effects on airway sensory nerves. We investigated whether RV can directly infect and alter PNEs or whether it exerts effects indirectly via the release of mediators from infected epithelial cells.

Background And Objective: Traditional and planimetric plaque indices rely on plaque-disclosing agents and cannot quantify three-dimensional (3D) structures of dental biofilms. We introduce a novel computer-assisted method for evaluating and visualising plaque volume using intraoral scans (IOSs).
Materials And Methods: This was a 4-day, non-brushing, plaque-regrowth study (n = 15).

Recent improvements in cell-free DNA technology have enabled non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) to screen for fetal single-gene autosomal recessive conditions from maternal blood as early as the first trimester. This technique can determine the fetal risk for cystic fibrosis (CF) with a single blood sample from a pregnant person without the need for a partner sample, which is required for traditional carrier screening. A retrospective review of 100,106 consecutive general-risk pregnant patients who underwent CF carrier screening was completed.
