In this study, the biomolecular interaction occurred between nucleic acids and Capsaicin (CPS), the active compound in chilli peppers, which has been reported to have anti-carcinogenic properties, was investigated for the first time herein using disposable electrochemical biosensor. It is aimed to perform the surface-confined interaction between CPS and different types of nucleic acids and under this aim, the experimental conditions were optimized; such as, the concentration of CPS and DNA, DNA immobilization time and interaction time etc. The detection limit of DNA was estimated based on guanine oxidation signal in the linear concentration range of DNA from 1 to 5 μg/mL, and it was found to be 0.62 μg/mL. The effect of time-dependent manner from 1 min to 30 min on the interaction of CPS with nucleic acids was explored upon to the changes at guanine signal coming from double stranded DNA and cDNA as well as PCR samples. The interaction of CPS with double stranded DNA was also determined by agarose gel electrophoresis.

Background: Sarcomas are rare cancer with a heterogeneous group of tumors. They affect both genders across all age groups and present significant heterogeneity, with more than 70 histological subtypes. Despite tailored treatments, the high metastatic potential of sarcomas remains a major factor in poor patient survival, as metastasis is often the leading cause of death.

RNA cap formation on RNA polymerase II transcripts is regulated by cellular signalling pathways during development and differentiation, adaptive and innate immune responses, during the cell cycle and in response to oncogene deregulation. Here, we discuss how the RNA cap methyltransferase, RNA guanine-7 methyltransferase (RNMT), functions to complete the 7-methyl-guanosine or m7G cap. The mechanisms by which RNMT is regulated by signalling pathways, co-factors and other enzymes are explored.

Genome imbalance, resulting from varying the dosage of individual chromosomes (aneuploidy), has a more detrimental effect than changes in complete sets of chromosomes (haploidy/polyploidy). This imbalance is likely due to disruptions in stoichiometry and interactions among macromolecular assemblies. Previous research has shown that aneuploidy causes global modulation of protein-coding genes (PCGs), microRNAs, and transposable elements (TEs), affecting both the varied chromosome (cis-located) and unvaried genome regions (trans-located) across various taxa.

Problem: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease that leads to pelvic pain and infertility. Recent studies have indicated that immunological, endocrine, biochemical, and genetic irregularities, along with suboptimal quality of oocytes, embryos, and the endometrial environment, significantly impact infertility associated with endometriosis. Ectopic endometrial cells in endometriosis have the capacity to avoid apoptosis.

A considerable number of individuals are diagnosed with idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia. In order to achieve a more complete understanding of the pathophysiology, it is essential to adopt a range of novel approaches and utilize new animal models. This study investigated changes in the messenger RNA (mRNA) expression of ion-channels in a newly developed animal model of trigeminal neuropathic pain induced by cervical spinal dorsal horn compression.
