Background: Molnupiravir, an FDA-approved antiviral for the treatment of COVID-19, requires reliable analytical methods to ensure its quality and safety due to its therapeutic importance.
Objectives: This study presents the development of a stability-indicating RP-HPLC method for estimating molnupiravir-related impurities in capsule formulations. An unknown impurity is structurally elucidated using LC-TQ/MS and 1H and 1³C NMR spectroscopy.

Quadrupolar NMR crystallography guided crystal structure prediction (QNMRX-CSP) is a method for determining the crystal structures of organic solids. To date, our two previous QNMRX-CSP studies have relied upon on Cl solid-state NMR (SSNMR) spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Monte-Carlo simulated annealing (MC-SA), and dispersion-corrected density functional theory (DFT-D2∗) calculations for the determination of crystal structures for organic HCl salts with known crystal structures, in order to benchmark the method and subject it to blind tests. Herein, we apply QNMRX-CSP for the de novo crystal structure determination of L-alaninamide HCl (L-Ala-NH), for which no crystal structure has been reported, using Cl SSNMR and PXRD data for structural prediction and refinement, along with C and N SSNMR data for subsequent structural validation.

In this study, a novel bleaching method for ramie cellulose fibers with low oxidative damage was developed by utilizing the properties of sodium percarbonate contained in tea saponin, which slowly releases hydrogen peroxide in the catalytic oxidation system of N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI). First, the bleaching process was optimized using response surface design, followed by comparison and characterization of fiber properties prepared under different bleaching systems. Finally, the energy consumption, water consumption, and toxicity of the NHPI/tea saponin system were evaluated.

The research employed zirconyl oxychloride as a catalyst in a reaction involving pyrazole aldehyde, (thio)urea, and acetyl acetone to establish an aqueous approach for synthesizing 3,4-dihydropyrimidinone derivatives (compounds 4a-j) with potential claims as antidiabetic agents. FT-IR, HR-MS, H NMR and C NMR were employed to analyze the synthesized compounds. The HOMO-LUMO analysis was performed to evaluate the stability of the synthesized derivatives.
