Poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) has been reported to show both upper critical solution temperature (UCST) and lower critical solution temperature (LCST) behavior in presence of trivalent metal hexacyano anions, which is attractive for the development of smart materials. In this communication, the influence of the double thermoresponsive behavior of PDMAEMA driven by electrostatic interactions is investigated by comparing systems with [Co(CN)6 ](3-) , [Fe(CN)6 ](3-) , and [Cr(CN)6 ](3-) as trivalent anions. Furthermore, tuning of double thermoresponsive behavior of PDMAEMA by incorporating hydrophilic or hydrophobic comonomers is also discussed in the presence of [Fe(CN)6 ](3-) as trivalent ion.

Conventional gelatin's gel-to-sol transition upon heating restricts its utility in biomedical applications that benefit from a gel state at physiological temperatures such as Pluronic F127 and poly(NIPAAm). Herein, we present "rev-Gelatin", a gelatin engineered with reverse thermo-responsive properties that undergoes a sol-to-gel transition as temperature rises from ambient to body temperature. Inspired by the phase dynamics of common materials like candy and ice cubes, whose surfaces soften or partially melt under warming, facilitating inter-object adhesion- rev-Gelatin leverages this concept to achieve fluidity at room temperature for easy injectability.

Wearable sweat sensors offer noninvasive health monitoring through multiplexed biomarker analysis, delivering real-time diagnostics with continuous operational capability. However, chronic cutaneous interface hydration during prolonged monitoring induces adhesive delamination phenomena that manifest as signal attenuation, which fundamentally limits their clinical reliability. To address this challenge, we developed a thermodynamically adaptive polymer interface combining three functional components: mussel-inspired catechol moieties for moisture-tolerant adhesion, hydrophobic acrylates ensuring mechanical stability, and N-isopropylacrylamide enabling thermal responsiveness.

The interface between grafted poly(-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and fluid plays an important role in drug delivery, responsive nanomaterials, and separation technologies. However, under external shear, the transport at the interface is regulated by both the thermoresponsive behavior and grafting densities. This study combines equilibrium and nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the synergistic effects of grafting density, temperature, and shear flow on the structural and dynamic properties of PNIPAM brushes in methanol-water solutions.

Currently most conventional reporters in CRISPR/Cas system, including fluorophore-quencher (FQ) and magnetic bead (MB)-based reporters, encounter limitations in terms of sensitivity and compatibility. To overcome these challenges, we developed novel reporters for CRISPR/Cas systems based on thermo-responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM). Below the lower critical solution temperature (LCST), PNIPAM-based reporters exhibited a liquid state and can be cleaved by Cas proteins in a homogeneous reaction, preserving function and structure of Cas proteins while effectively accelerating the reaction kinetics.

Water scarcity and inefficient irrigation methods continue to be major issues in agriculture, which consumes 70 % of freshwater. In this context, creating effective water management strategies is crucial, and superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) offer a promising new solution. However, traditional synthetic SAPs and hybrid SAPs with a lot of synthetic material contribute to microplastic pollution, making it urgent to find eco-friendly alternatives that deliver good performance while protecting the environment and supporting sustainability.
