In the present study, the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Rhinogobio typus (Teleostei, Cyprinidae, Gobioninae) was obtained using a PCR-based method. The total length of the mitochondrial genome is 16,608 bp, including 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, and a non-coding control region (D-loop), which is similar to that observed in many other reported fishes. The overall-based composition is 31.3% A, 26.6% T, 15.9% G and 26.2% C, with high A + T content (57.9%). These results will provide a useful tool for species identification, evolutionary and population genetic studies of R. typus and its related species.

Objective: This study aimed to identify potential mutations associated with major depressive disorder (MDD) and evaluate disease-associated risk factors.
Methods: Total genomic DNAwas extracted from the participants' blood samples, and the complete mitochondrial genome wasamplified by PCR, purified, and sequenced. Mutation burden analysis and functional mutation analysis was performed, including total mutation counts, highly conserved mutations (Conservation Index >75 %), and structurally disruptive mutations.

Glioma patients will inevitably develop resistance to temozolomide (TMZ) leading to tumor recurrence. By comparing genomic differences between primary and recurrent glioma patients, Thioredoxin reductase 1 (TrxR1) was identified as a crucial role in TMZ resistance. Glioma cells elevate the expression level of TXNRD1 to against TMZ-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby conferring TMZ resistance.

Mutualistic endosymbiosis is a cornerstone of evolutionary innovation, enabling organisms to exploit diverse niches unavailable to individual species. However, our knowledge about the early evolutionary stage of this relationship remains limited. The association between the ciliate Tetrahymena utriculariae and its algal endosymbiont Micractinium tetrahymenae indicates an incipient stage of photoendosymbiosis.
