Article Abstract

We present a robust single photon circular quantum secret sharing (QSS) scheme with phase encoding over 50 km single mode fiber network using a circular QSS protocol. Our scheme can automatically provide a perfect compensation of birefringence and remain stable for a long time. A high visibility of 99.3% is obtained. Furthermore, our scheme realizes a polarization insensitive phase modulators. The visibility of this system can be maintained perpetually without any adjustment to the system every time we test the system.

The concept of the circular bioeconomy is a carbon neutral, sustainable system with zero waste. One vision for such an economy is based upon lignocellulosic biomass. This lignocellulosic circular bioeconomy requires CO absorption from biomass growth and the efficient deconstruction of recalcitrant biomass into solubilized and fractionated biopolymers which are then used as precursors for the sustainable production of high-quality liquid fuels, chemical bioproducts and bio-based materials.

Optimal Chirality Enhances Long-Range Fluctuation-Induced Interactions in Active Fluids.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

Department of Theoretical Physics and Center for Biophysics, Saarland University, 66123, Saarbrücken, Germany.

Understanding interactions between chiral active particles- self-propelling and self-rotating entities- is crucial for uncovering how chiral active matter self-organizes into dynamic structures. Although fluctuation-induced forces in nonequilibrium active systems can drive structure formation, the role of chirality remains largely unexplored. Effective fluctuation-induced forces between intruders immersed in chiral active fluids are investigated and revealing that the impact of chirality depends sensitively on particle shape.

Cascaded metasurface for polarization-dependent varifocal vortex beam manipulation.

Vortex beams, characterized by orbital angular momentum (OAM), hold significant potential in optical communications, quantum information processing, and optical manipulation. However, existing metasurface designs are largely confined to single-degree-of-freedom control, such as static OAM generation or fixed focal points, which limiting their ability to integrate polarization multiplexing with dynamic focal tuning. To address this challenge, we propose a tunable multifunctional cascaded metasurface that synergizes polarization-sensitive phase engineering with interlayer rotational coupling, overcoming conventional device limitations.

Gadolinium and Europium Doped Chiral Perovskite Films with Magnetic Circular Dichroism and Circularly Polarized Luminescence for Information Encryption Applications.

All inorganic lead halide perovskite (CsPbX) has become a hot topic in chiral optics for its high quantum yield and tunable luminescence. The environmental degradation tendency and lack of magneto-optical coupling mechanism of lead-based perovskite severely restrict its chirality integrated application. Rare-earth ions (such as Gd, Eu), with their unique 4f electronic configuration, not only passivate the lattice defects to improve stability but also expand the spectral response range through electronic localization effects.

Chiral Molecules Induce Enantiomorphic Lattice Helicity in Chiral 0D Tin Bromide Crystals.

Chiral organic-inorganic hybrid metal halides have emerged as a promising class of materials for spin-controlled optical and optoelectronic effects and related applications. Chiral hybrid metal halides generally crystallize in non-helical space groups. Herein, we report the discovery of zero-dimensional (0D) chiral (R/S-MBA)SnBr (MBA: methylbenzylammonium cation) single crystals with enantiomorphic lattice helicity.
