Article Abstract

The effective annealing times (t(eff)) for nucleating various oxides from an amorphous matrix under nanosecond pulsed laser irradiation have been determined. The oxides, which had perovskite, bixbyite, anatase, and pyrochlore structures, showed similar t(eff) values for crystal nucleation of around 60 ns. This indicates that the effective annealing time is a good universal value for evaluating pulsed laser-induced oxide nucleation. Time-resolved resistance measurements of tin-doped In2O3 thin films under pulsed laser irradiation showed that crystal nucleation and rapid growth proceeded spontaneously with an instantaneous temperature rise.

Stress engineering is an effective way to tune the performance of semiconductors, which has been verified in the work of inorganic and organic single-crystal semiconductors. However, due to the limitations of the vapor-phase growth preparation conditions, the deposited polycrystalline organic semiconductors are more susceptible to residual stress. Therefore, it is of great research significance to develop a low-cost stress engineering applicable to vapor-deposited semiconductors.

This study presents a novel carbazole derivative functionalized with hydroxy diphosphonic acid groups (HDPACz) as an efficient annealing-free hole transport layer (HTL) through strong bidentate anchoring to indium tin oxide (ITO). Compared to conventional mono-phosphonic acid counterparts, HDPACz demonstrates superior ITO surface coverage and interfacial dipole, effectively modulating the work function of ITO. Theoretical calculations reveal enhanced adsorption energy (-3.

With growing public attention to environmental issues and sustainable development, biodegradable bio-based plastics have attracted widespread interest. This study reveals the chemical-physical synergistic regulation mechanism of biodegradable PLA/PBAT blends through the synergistic modification of epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) and epoxy chain extender (ADR). Interfacial interaction analysis shows that PBAT tends to encapsulate ENR to form aggregates.

Rational design of Pt-integrated SnNbO/BiMoO monolayer S-scheme heterojunction for efficient ethylene removal toward fresh produce preservation.

Effective removal of ethylene (CH) during fruit and vegetables storage and transport remains a critical challenge for post-harvest preservation. Although S-scheme heterojunctions can improve charge separation and redox capacity for ethylene degradation, their efficiency is still restricted by limited carrier transfer and sluggish oxygen activation. Here, we rationally designed a novel 2D/2D SnNbO/BiMoO monolayer S-scheme heterojunction integrated with Pt co-catalyst to address these limitations.

The construction of polymer-based photoactivated room-temperature phosphorescence systems remains a prominent research focus, yet the development of ultrafast activated systems under ambient conditions continues to pose a challenge. In this study, cyclized phenothiazine derivatives bearing diverse substituents are synthesized and incorporated into an amorphous polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix, resulting in significantly enhanced dynamic photoactivation characteristics compared with those of their pristine monomeric counterparts. Under ambient conditions and 2 s irradiation, the lifetime and quantum yield of C[4]PTZ-OH@PVA increase by factors of 1.
