Article Abstract

We propose a multidimensional quantum information encoding approach based on temporal modulation of single photons, where the Hilbert space can be spanned by an in-principle infinite set of orthonormal temporal profiles. We analyze two specific realizations of such modulation schemes, and show that error rate per symbol can be smaller than 1% for practical implementations. Temporal modulation may enable multidimensional quantum communication over the existing fiber optical infrastructure, as well as provide an avenue for probing high-dimensional entanglement approaching the continuous limit.

Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) are well known to give rise to a quantum confined structure of excitons. Because of this quantum confinement, new physics of hot exciton relaxation dynamics arises. Decades of work using transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy have yielded initial simple observations, such as estimates of the cooling rate from single pump photon energy experiments.

Achieving Efficient Lifetime-Tunable Room-temperature Phosphorescent Cellulose with Excitation Wavelength- and Time-Dependence.

The precise modulation of the lifetime and the responsive properties of room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) is essential for realizing its multifunctional applications. Herein, a facile strategy is presented to achieve a series of cellulose benzoate esters (CBE-X, X = H/CH/OH/NH) with lifetime-tunable RTP through substituent engineering. Enhancing the electron-donating ability of CBE-X effectively modulates the HOMO-LUMO gap, exciton energy, spin-orbit coupling, and interaction between cellulose chains, thereby enabling control over the RTP lifetime.

Targeting Internet Addiction Through Body Awareness Psychotherapy: The Mediating Role of Executive Functions and Emotion Regulation.

Department of Addiction Studies, School of Medical, AND Clinical Research Development Unit-Matini, Kargarnejad Hospital, Kashan University of Medical Sciences, Kashan, Iran.

Background: Internet addiction disorder (IAD) is increasingly recognized as a behavioral addiction linked to deficits in executive functioning, emotion regulation, boredom susceptibility, and impaired time perception. Emerging therapies such as body awareness psychotherapy (BAP) aim to improve cognitive and emotional self-regulation through embodied mindfulness. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of BAP in reducing internet addiction and related issues with time perception and boredom, focusing specifically on the mediating roles of executive functions and emotion regulation.

The increasing presence of micro- and nanoplastics in natural environments raises concerns about their interactions with biological particles such as pollen, that may act as carriers but could also undergo subtle chemical or structural changes, potentially influencing their ecological role. At the same time, the analytical and technological approaches used to investigate nanoplastic pollution mechanism can themselves raise concerns regarding their greenness. In this interdisciplinary study, we explored the interactions between multifloral bee pollen and polyethylene terephthalate nanoparticles (NanoPET) under environmentally relevant conditions using a multimodal analytical strategy combining AF4 (Asymmetrical Flow Field-Flow Fractionation) multidetection, Pyrolysis-GC-MS (py-GC-MS), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), and dielectrophoresis-Raman spectroscopy (DEP-Raman).

All inorganic lead halide perovskite (CsPbX) has become a hot topic in chiral optics for its high quantum yield and tunable luminescence. The environmental degradation tendency and lack of magneto-optical coupling mechanism of lead-based perovskite severely restrict its chirality integrated application. Rare-earth ions (such as Gd, Eu), with their unique 4f electronic configuration, not only passivate the lattice defects to improve stability but also expand the spectral response range through electronic localization effects.
