Objective: To quantitatively summarize the association of NFKBIA gene polymorphisms with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Methods: We surveyed studies on the association of NFKBIA gene polymorphisms with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases in PubMed. Meta-analysis was performed in a fixed/random effect model.
Results: We identified 14 studies using a PubMed search. Meta-analysis was performed for NFKBIA gene polymorphisms at positions 2758 (A/G, 5 studies), -881 (A/G, 3 studies), -826 (C/T, 3 studies), and -297 (C/T, 3 studies). We did not detect associations of NFKBIA gene polymorphisms at positions 2758, -881, -297 with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. An association of NFKBIA gene -826C/T polymorphism with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases was found (C vs. T: OR = 1.81, 95% CI = 0.97-3.36, P = 0.06; CT + TT vs. CC: OR = 2.11, 95% CI = 1.07-4.19, P = 0.03; TT vs. CC + CT: OR = 2.20, 95% CI = 0.78-6.21, P = 0.06; TT vs. CC: OR = 2.87, 95% CI = 0.78-10.62, P = 0.11; CT vs. CC: OR = 2.02, 95% CI = 1.22-3.36, P = 0.006).
Conclusion: This meta-analysis demonstrates that autoimmune and inflammatory diseases are associated with NFKBIA gene -826C/T polymorphism, but not with 2758A/G, -881A/G, and -279C/T.

Background: Heat illness is a dangerous condition marked by a widespread inflammatory response. Although Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth and its derivatives are clinically used, their mechanisms remain unclear.
Methods: 11 heat illness patients and 14 healthy volunteers from Southwest Medical University Affiliated Hospital were enrolled.

Background: Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are found to be critical for maintaining immune tolerance to self-antigens; however, their status in primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) remains unclear. We investigated alterations in the abundance of peripheral Tregs in a large pSS cohort and their implications for patients.
Methods: Levels of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+Treg cells in the peripheral blood of 624 patients with pSS, and 93 healthy controls (HCs) were detected using modified flow cytometry (FCM).

Environmental stress contributes to the development of depression through neuro-immune interactions, yet the underlying molecular mechanisms and associated clinical diagnostic biomarkers remain unclear. We established a psychosocial stress mouse model and systematically investigated the immune dysregulation induced by stress through integrated analysis of blood cell profiles, leukocyte transcriptomics, protein-protein interaction networks, single-cell RNA sequencing, and targeted pharmacological intervention. Additionally, we constructed and validated a depression predictive model using multiparametric peripheral blood data and machine learning, and assessed feature importance using the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) analysis.

Human enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL) is a rare primary aggressive intestinal T-cell lymphoma associated with celiac disease and is considered to be a neoplasm of intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs) with an innate lymphoid cell (ILC)-like immunophenotype. The lack of an animal model has delayed the elucidation of its pathogenesis. In dogs, the histopathological and immunophenotypic features of intestinal large T-cell lymphoma (ILTCL) are similar to EATL; however, its cell of origin remains unclear.

Oxidative stress (OS) plays an important role in trabecular meshwork (TM) dysfunction in glaucoma, but its molecular mechanism remains unclear. We integrated the GSE27276 dataset and OS-related gene sets from GeneCards to screen 61 differentially expressed OS-related genes (DEOSGs). Functional enrichment analysis revealed that these genes are primarily involved in inflammatory and OS-related signaling pathways, including IL-17, TNF, and NF-κB.
