Objective: This study investigated the prevalence of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms in Czech adult people with epilepsy (PWE) and examined factors potentially contributing to the co-occurrence of these two conditions. Although previous research has consistently reported elevated rates of ADHD in epilepsy populations, data from adult samples in Czech Republic remain limited.

Methods: Fifty-six adults with epilepsy completed validated self-report questionnaires assessing ADHD symptoms (ASRS), anxiety (GAD-2), and depression (NDDIE-2).

Recursive splice sites are rare motifs postulated to facilitate splicing across massive introns and shape isoform diversity, especially for long, brain-expressed genes. The necessity of this unique mechanism remains unsubstantiated, as does the role of recursive splicing (RS) in human disease. From analyses of rare copy number variants (CNVs) from almost one million individuals, we previously identified large, heterozygous deletions eliminating an RS site (RS1) in the first intron of that conferred substantial risk for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other neurobehavioral traits.

Parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) face unique challenges that may significantly increase stress levels, potentially impacting the emotional well-being of the entire family. In Mexico, limited research has examined the association between parental stress and coping strategies among families with children with developmental disabilities. This study aimed to compare stress levels and coping strategies among parents of children with ASD, ADHD, and neurotypical developing (NTD) children, as well as to analyze differences in coping styles across these groups.

Non-intrusive neuroimaging technology offers fast and robust diagnostic tools for neuro-disorder disease diagnosis, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Resting-state functional magnetic imaging (rs-fMRI) has been demonstrated to have great potential for such applications due to its unique capability and convenience in providing spatial-temporal brain imaging. Background: Race associated differences and disparities in test scores, such as on neuropsychological measures, can complicate the interpretation of these test scores in student athletes following a concussion. It is unknown if there are race associated differences on the Sway Medical System, a battery that includes balance and cognitive tests for use in concussion management.
