Two organically templated cadmium borophosphates, (C(4)H(16)N(3))[CdClB(2)P(3)O(12)(OH)] (1) and (C(2)H(10)N(2))[CdB(2)P(3)O(12)(OH)] (2), were synthesized hydrothermally in the presence of structure-directing amines. Compound 1 has a complex layered structure (orthorhombic, Pbca (No. 61); a = 9.470(2), b = 12.307(3), c = 27.311(6) A; V = 3183 (1) A(3); Z = 8) with a 9MR channel system, while compound 2 (orthorhombic, Pbca (No. 61); a = 9.286(3), b = 12.459(3), c = 21.626(6) A; V = 2502(1) A(3); Z = 8) presents a 3-dimensional open framework structure of different types of intersecting channels. It is worth noting that both the Cl(-) anions and the organic templates play important and interesting roles in the formation of the structures.

Organic structure directing agents (OSDAs), such as tetrapropylammonium (TPA) cations, serve as crucial templates for the formation of zeolite frameworks. These organic molecules interact with inorganic species, guiding the assembly of the zeolite structure. In this study, we investigate the complex interplay between boron species and TPA cations during the crystallization of [B, Al]-ZSM-5 zeolites.

Mesoporous carbon materials were synthesized by using sucrose as a carbon source and hydrophilic Aerosil 380 as a hard template. A two-stage optimization process based on the response surface methodology using a central composite design (RSM-CCD) was employed to enhance the adsorption performance of the material for the crystal violet (CV) dye. The first stage of optimization yielded a maximum adsorption capacity of 155.

The amplification of detection signals is an important method for improving the sensitivity of electrochemical detection. This study presents an efficient strategy for preparing electrochemical catalytic materials using a simple self-assembly technique to encapsulate Fe single atoms (Fe-SAs) and Ni single atoms (Ni-SAs) in the Cu-benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (Cu-BTC) metal-organic framework to form a Cu-BTC@FeNi-SAs catalytic system. Subsequently, Cu-BTC@FeNi-SAs was modified on the surface of a gold electrode, and sulfadiazine was used as a template to prepare a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) on the modified electrode.

We present a supramolecular templating strategy for inducing chirality in hybrid perovskites via confined crystallization within chiral super spaces-nanoconfined, helically ordered cavities formed by the self-assembly of achiral bent-core molecules with chiral additives. Upon removal of the additives, the resulting porous films retain permanent chirality. Quasi-2D hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites crystallized within these templates exhibit distinct chiroptical activity, including mirror-image circular dichroism and circularly polarized light emitting (CPLE), with CPLE dissymmetry factors reaching up to 1.

Structurally colored colloids, or photonic pigments, offer a sustainable alternative to conventional dyes, yet existing systems are constrained by limited morphologies and complex synthesis. In particular, achieving angle-independent color typically relies on disordered inverse architectures formed from synthetically demanding bottlebrush block copolymers (BCPs), hindering scalability and functional diversity. Here, we report a conceptually distinct strategy to assemble three-dimensional inverse photonic glass microparticles using amphiphilic linear BCPs (poly(styrene-block-4-vinylpyridine), PS-b-P4VP) via an emulsion-templated process.
