The article describes the technology transfer concerns reported by a small sample (N=14) of recent college graduates with disabilities. In structured, in-depth interviews, researchers asked respondents to reflect on the extent to which they had utilized technology resources during their college years in preparation for the world of work. Results suggest that colleges and universities need to play a more active role in introducing students with disabilities to both generalized and assistive technology services.

Hypervirulent (hvKp) and classical multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains belong to distinct lineages and hvKp are typically characterized by hypermucoid capsules that have been shown to limit horizontal gene transfer (HGT), including plasmid acquisition. However, the convergence of hypervirulence and MDR is increasingly common worldwide. When we profiled 127 antibiotic-susceptible hvKp strains, we found that most (86%) are highly permissive to plasmid transfer despite their capsules.

The synergistic effect of various ions with optical properties is an important method to regulate the Er ion upconversion luminescence process. However, the energy processes between them are complicated and difficult to separate, and it is challenging to clarify the results of each process when multiple ions are co-doped. Herein, a series of NaYF:Er were synthesized by the low-temperature combustion method, and the luminescence color of Er ions was modulated by doping Yb ions and Tm ions.

Singlet oxygen (O) plays a crucial role in cancer chemotherapy and ROS biology, driving the need for highly specific probes to monitor its dynamics in real time. Herein, we developed the ratiometric fluorescent probe NAP-t-PY, utilizing a 2-pyridone recognition unit. The probe's 1-methyl-3-benzyl-2-pyridone moiety reacts specifically with O [4 + 2] cycloaddition, forming the endoperoxide NAP-t-PY-EP.

Reaction of [Mn(salophen)Cl] {salophen = -phenylenediamine bis(salicylidenaminato)} with a tricyano Fe(III) precursor complex, [Fe(bbp)(CN)] {Hbbp = bis(2-benzimidazolyl)pyridine}, affords a dinuclear cyano-bridged heterometallic Mn-(μ-NC)-Fe fragment in the complex salt [Mn(salophen)(HO)][Mn(salophen)(HO)(μ-NC)Fe(bbp)(CN)]·4HO (1). The title compound shows field-induced slow relaxation of magnetization below 2.8 K.
