This study aims to compare the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions on systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in individuals with prehypertension. A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and the Wanfang database from inception to December 2023. The analysis included randomized controlled trials with either parallel or cross-over designs.

This paper presents a two-stage approach for efficiently solving a weekly home healthcare scheduling and routing problem. Two new mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) models are proposed, where the first is used for making patient-therapist assignments over the week, and the second for deriving daily routes. In both MILPs, the objective function contains a hierarchically weighted set of goals.

It is unclear whether breast milk composition is affected by maternal sleep, psychological state, diet and gut microbiome. This study aims to explore the effects of these key factors on the functional protein components of breast milk.

Limited efforts have been made to synthesize the evidence comparing the effects of iron and multiple micronutrient (MMN) supplementation in these populations.
Objective: In this study we sought to examine the effects of iron and MMN on anemia and anthropometric variables among people aged 5 to 24 years in low- and middle-income countries.
Nitrate is abundant in natural foods, especially plant-based foods, having the potential to enhance muscle function. However, its relationship with sarcopenia in the context of daily diet remains unexplored. This cohort study investigated the associations between dietary nitrate intake and sarcopenia, as well as related symptoms, using data including 28,229 participants with a mean follow-up of 9.

Introduction: Challenges remain in reducing antigen escape and tumor recurrence while CAR-T cell therapy has substantially improved outcomes in the treatment of multiple myeloma. T cell receptor fusion construct (TRuC)-T cells, which utilize intact T cell receptor (TCR)-CD3 complex to eliminate tumor cells in a non-major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-restricted manner, represent a promising strategy. Moreover, interleukin-7 (IL-7) is known to enhance the proliferation and survival of T cells.

Some of the major obstacles to cellular immunotherapy in solid tumors include inefficient cell infiltration into tumors, lack of prolonged cellular persistence, and therapy-associated toxicity.
Methods: To boost the cytotoxic potential of TAC-T cells against solid tumors, we generated a novel NECTIN-4-targeted TAC-T variant, NECTIN-4 TAC28-T, which integrated the co-stimulatory CD28 cytoplasmic region, and compared the anti-tumor activities between NECTIN-4 TAC-T cells and NECTIN-4 TAC28-T cells in vitro and vivo.
Introduction: Rapid growth has been found in the market of dietary supplements (DSs) in China. However, studies about the knowledge level, intentions, and behavior related to DS remained limited in the Chinese population. This study aimed to explore the knowledge level, perception, and practice toward DS among Chinese adults.

Aims: Recurrent miscarriage (RM) plagues 1 %-5 % women of childbearing age. Facing the limitations of clinical treatment, its pathological mechanism remains to be clarified.
Methods: Decidual tissues of three induced abortions and three RM were collected for transcriptome sequencing.
Evidence on the association between red meat consumption and lung cancer risk is weak. This study examined the associations between red meat and lung cancer across levels of antioxidant intake from foods or supplements. Cox proportional hazard models were applied to assess hazard ratios (HRs) for lung cancer incidence in the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian (PLCO) cancer screening trial.

Background: Ensuring proper early feeding for young children is crucial, as encountering feeding difficulties (FD) during this stage can give rise to a cascade of health problems, the repercussions of which may endure into late childhood and adolescence. Children raised by transgender parents may be at risk of encountering FD, however, there is no research conducted on Chinese transgender families.
Methods: We designed a cross-sectional survey in which the rate of FD and its influencing factors were investigated among transgender parents in China.
Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are complexes that play a crucial role in shaping the early-life gut microbiota. This study intends to explore whether HMO patterns are associated with the gut microbiota of infants. We included 96 Chinese breastfeeding mother-infant dyads.

Simultaneous multiplexed analysis can provide comprehensive information for disease diagnosis. However, the current multiplex methods rely on sophisticated barcode technology, which hinders its wider application. In this study, an ultrasimple size encoding method is proposed for multiplex detection using a wedge-shaped microfluidic chip.

Introduction: The short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) contained in breast milk play a key role in infant growth, affecting metabolism and enhancing intestinal immunity by regulating inflammation.
Methods: In order to examine the associations between the microbiota and SCFA levels in breast milk, and explore the roles of SCFAs in regulating the infant gut microbiota, we enrolled 50 paired mothers and infants and collected both breast milk and infant fecal samples. Breast milk SCFA contents were determined by UPLC-MS, and whole genome shotgun sequencing was applied to determine the microbial composition of breast milk and infant feces.
Scope: To study the effect of positional distribution of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in dietary triacylglycerols (TAG) on the tissue fatty acid content and composition of mildly (n-3) deficient rats.
Methods And Results: In a 5-day feeding trial, mildly (n-3) deficient rats received 360 mg daily structured TAGs: sn-22:6(n-3)-18:0-18:0, sn-18:0-18:0-22:6(n-3), sn-18:0-22:6(n-3)-18:0, or tristearin. A fifth group receives standard (n-3) adequate feed AIN-93G from birth till the end of the trial.

Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is a powerful cytogenetic method used to precisely detect and localize nucleic acid sequences. This technique is proving to be an invaluable tool in medical diagnostics and has made significant contributions to biology and the life sciences. However, the number of cells is large and the nucleic acid sequences are disorganized in the FISH images taken using the microscope.

Our objective was to establish ethnicity-specific systolic blood pressure (SBP) cutoffs for ethnic minority populations and assess the efficacy of these ethnicity-specific cutoffs in predicting adverse outcomes.
Methods: We analyzed data from UK Biobank, which included 444,418 participants from White, South Asian, Black Caribbean, and Black African populations with no history of cardiorenal complications.
