Objectives: To prospectively examine the stage-specific association between unintended pregnancy and perinatal depressive (PND) symptoms across pregnancy and postpartum, and to explore the moderating influence of socioeconomic status (SES) in this dynamic in a Chinese cohort.
Methods: Utilizing data from the Chinese Pregnant Women Cohort Study-Peking Union Medical College (CPWCS-PUMC), a multicenter prospective cohort of 9134 participants, depressive symptoms were assessed using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) at four time points. Generalized estimating equations (GEE) with autocorrelation working correlation matrices evaluated associations, adjusting for sociodemographic, health-risk behavioral, and obstetric confounders.
Precipitation is the major cause of yield variation in rainfed agriculture production on the Loess Plateau. Overfertilization is economically and environmentally undesirable. Optimizing nitrogen management based on fallow season precipitation is crucial for enhancing crop water use efficiency and achieving high yields in dryland/rainfed farming systems, considering the economic and environmental drawbacks of overfertilization and the uncertainty of crop yield and N input returns under high rainfall variability.

To improve coverage of the second booster dose, it is crucial to investigate the prevalence of vaccine hesitancy among the general population during this period and explore the reasons for this phenomenon.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted between January 5 to February 9, 2023.
Background: Perinatal depression is common worldwide, which can cause many adverse effects on the physical and mental health of the mother and baby, as well as the whole family. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) is an efficient and effective instrument for perinatal depression. However, few studies have examined its longitudinal measurement invariance (LMI) during the whole perinatal period, which is particularly important in longitudinal studies, such as exploring developmental trajectories of perinatal depression and evaluating the effects of certain interventions.

Therefore, we included 51,357 participants from the UK Biobank with 2941 plasma proteins measured in blood samples collected between 2006 and 2010, measurements of annual fine particular matter <2.5 μm in diameter (PM) and nitrogen dioxide (NO), and follow-up data on NAFLD (743 incident cases occurred over a median follow-up of 13.

Using bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR), we aim to explore the potential causal associations between morning diurnal preference and seven prominent psychiatric disorders.
Methods: MR is a genetic epidemiological method that leverages genetic variants as instrumental variables to infer causal associations between exposures and outcomes.

Background: Cervical cancer (CC) and breast cancer (BC) threaten women's well-being, influenced by health-related stigma and a lack of reliable information, which can cause late diagnosis and early death. ChatGPT is likely to become a key source of health information, although quality concerns could also influence health-seeking behaviours.
Methods: This cross-sectional online survey compared ChatGPT's responses to five physicians specializing in mammography and five specializing in gynaecology.

Background: The impacts of long-term exposure to air pollution on the risk of subsequent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) among participants with type 2 diabetes (T2D) is ambiguous. The modifying role of Life's Essential 8 (LE8) remains unknown.
Methods: This study included 23,129 participants with T2D at baseline from the UK Biobank.
Vaccine hesitancy is one of the top 10 threats to global health, which affects the prevalence and fatality of vaccine-preventable diseases over the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people living with HIV (PLWH) may have higher risks of infection, more serious complications, and worse prognosis without the protection of the COVID-19 vaccine. A systematic review and meta-analysis aiming to evaluate the prevalence of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among PLWH was conducted using PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases for studies published between January 1, 2020, and August 31, 2022.

Methods: A two-sample Mendelian randomization study was performed, using the summary statistics of the morning chronotype from the European Consortium and those of the gut microbiota from the largest available genome-wide association study meta-analysis, conducted by the MiBioGen consortium.

Background: Accurate diagnosis and early treatment are essential in the fight against lymphatic cancer. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of medical imaging shows great potential, but the diagnostic accuracy of lymphoma is unclear. This study was done to systematically review and meta-analyse researches concerning the diagnostic performance of AI in detecting lymphoma using medical imaging for the first time.

Background: Antepartum depression is a prevalent unhealthy mental health problem worldwide, particularly in low-income countries. It is a major contributor to adverse birth outcomes. Previous studies linking antepartum depression to birthweight have yielded conflicting results, which may be the reason that the depressive symptoms were only measured once during pregnancy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPrevious studies only assessed the association between depressive symptoms and risk of preterm birth (PTB) at a time-point during pregnancy, resulting in inconsistent or contradictory results. Therefore, we aimed to explore the associations between the trajectories of depressive symptoms during pregnancy and risk of PTB. In total, 7732 pregnant women were included in 24 hospitals from 15 provinces of China.

What Is Added By This Report?: Terminations were associated with a 13% lower risk of endometrial cancer, whereas stillbirths were related to an 18% higher risk of cervical cancer. Rural residents with a history of pregnancy loss experienced a 19% and 38% increased risk of breast and cervical cancers, respectively, compared to their urban counterparts.

Background: Organophosphate esters (OPEs) are ubiquitously detected in environments and their exposure may affect respiratory health. However, epidemiological evidence, particularly among adolescents, is very limited.
Objective: We aimed to investigate the associations of urinary OPEs metabolites with asthma and lung function among adolescents and to identify potential effect modifiers.
Objective: The hepatotoxicity of exposure to a single heavy metal has been examined in previous studies. However, there is limited evidence on the association between heavy metals mixture and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). This study aims to investigate the associations of 13 urinary metals, individually and jointly, with NAFLD, MAFLD, and MAFLD components.

Methods: Participants in this study were recruited from a gay social networking app (Blued) in China by convenience sampling from December 16, 2020 to March 1, 2021. Perceived Social Support Questionnaire, Anticipated HIV Stigma Questionnaire, and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale were used to measure the social support, anticipated HIV stigma, and depressive symptoms of participants.
Aims: We explored the complex relationships between pre-pregnancy body mass index (pBMI) and maternal or infant complications and the mediating role of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in these relationships.
Methods: Pregnant women from 24 hospitals in 15 different provinces of China were enrolled in 2017 and followed through 2018. Propensity score-based inverse probability of treatment weighting, logistic regression, restricted cubic spline models, and causal mediation analysis were utilized.
