Background: The tumor nests in solid tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), possess tumor-initiating potential, with the capacity to metastasize and form new metastatic lesions. However, the biological characteristics and heterogeneity of tumor cells at the central and marginal regions of these tumor nests remain poorly understood.
Method: Based on pathological tissue sections, data integration and dimensionality reduction, we defined the boundaries and centers of tumor nests and fibrous nodules within 19 spatial transcriptomics (ST) samples from 8 HCC patients.
Background: Accurate determination of postmortem interval (PMI) and cause of death (COD) is a critical challenge in forensic pathology, with significant implications for criminal investigations. Traditional PMI estimation methods are based on macroscopic changes and are influenced by environmental factors and investigator subjectivity. Recent advances in molecular biology have shown that certain cellular structures, such as mitochondria, retain functionality after death, making them potential biomarkers for forensic assessment.

Method: The human tissues are divided into experimental group (hanging and strangulation) and control groups (hemorrhagic shock, brain injury group, and poisoning group). Detected the expression of OGG1 and integrity of mtDNA in cardiac tissue of each group.
Treatment strategies for paediatric neuroblastoma as well as many other cancers are limited by the unfavourable tumour microenvironment (TME). In this study, the TMEs of neuroblastoma were grouped by their genetic signatures into four distinct subtypes: immune enriched, immune desert, non-proliferative and fibrotic. Background: The TGACG-binding (TGA) family has 10 members that play vital roles in Arabidopsis thaliana defense responses and development. However, their involvement in controlling flowering time remains largely unknown and requires further investigation.
Results: To study the role of TGA7 during floral transition, we first investigated the tga7 mutant, which displayed a delayed-flowering phenotype under both long-day and short-day conditions.
Determination of mechanical asphyxia as the cause of death has always been difficult for forensic pathologists, particularly when signs of asphyxia are not obvious on the body. Currently, depending on only physical examination of corpses, pathologists must be cautious when making cause-of-death appraisals. In a previous study, four biomarkers-dual-specificity phosphatase 1 (DUSP1), potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily J member 2 (KCNJ2), miR-122, and miR-3185-were screened in human cardiac tissue from cadavers that died from mechanical asphyxia compared with those that died from craniocerebral injury, hemorrhagic shock, or other causes.
