Case 1: A 19-day-old male infant presented with poor feeding and decreased activity for 2 weeks, worsening with poor responsiveness for 3 days. At 5 days old, he developed poor feeding and poor responsiveness, was hospitalized, and was found to have elevated blood ammonia and thrombocytopenia. Whole-genome genetic analysis revealed a pathogenic homozygous mutation in the gene, NM-000282.

We retrospectively analyzed patients newly diagnosed with low-grade (grade 1-2) FL who underwent both F-FDG PET/CT and BMB from 2010 to 2022 at two Chinese institutions. PET/CT's diagnostic accuracy for BMI was assessed using BMB as gold standard.

This cross-sectional investigation examined the mediating effects of health literacy, social support, and self-efficacy on the association between ICT use and self-management behaviors among older adults (≥60 years) with comorbidities in China ( = 520). The participants were recruited from a tertiary hospital in Shanghai (July 2023-June 2024), and data on sociodemographics, self-management, health literacy, social support, self-efficacy, and ICT use were collected via structured questionnaires.

This study aims to investigate the effects of renin inhibitor aliskiren on kidney injury in human angiotensinogen-renin (AGT-REN) double transgenic hypertensive (dTH) mice and explore its possible mechanism. The dTH mice were divided into hypertension group (HT group) and aliskiren intervention group (HT+Aliskiren group), while wild-type C57BL/6 mice were served as the control group (WT group). Blood pressure data of mice in HT+Aliskiren group were collected after 28 d of subcutaneous penetration of aliskiren (20 mg/kg), and the damage of renal tissue structure and collagen deposition were observed by HE, Masson and PAS staining.

By controlling the pH within lysosomes, V-ATPase contributes to overall cellular homeostasis, helping to maintain a balance between the degradation and synthesis of cellular components. Dysfunction of V-ATPase impairs lysosomal acidification, leading to the accumulation of undigested materials and contributing to various diseases, including cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) like atherosclerosis and myocardial disease.

The engineering of metal nanoclusters (NCs) that exhibit bright emissions and high sensing performance under physiological conditions is still a formidable challenge. In this study, we report a novel design strategy for realizing excellent performance metal NC-based probes by leveraging both concerted proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) and photoinduced electron transfer (PET) mechanisms, with terbium(III) (Tb) ions serving as a key modulator. Our findings indicate that the binding of Tb ions to the 6-aza-2-thiothymidine (ATT) ligand effectively inhibits the proton-transfer step in the concerted PCET pathway of Au(ATT) NCs, giving rise to over a 10-fold enhancement in fluorescence and a quantum yield of 7.

Therefore, eRNA signatures could potentially be applied to represent antitumor immune cells and to improve cancer immunotherapy. In this study, we identified thousands of eRNAs that were significantly correlated with infiltrating immune cell abundance in more than 10,000 patient samples across a variety of cancer types.

Background: Obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS) represents the most prevalent form of chronic constipation, affecting a diverse patient population, leading to numerous complications, and imposing a significant burden on healthcare resources. Most ODS patients have insufficient rectal propulsion, but the exact mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of ODS remains unclear.
Aim: To explore the molecular mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of ODS.

Comprehending the underlying factors that govern photoluminescence (PL) in metal nanoclusters (NCs) under physiological conditions remains a highly intriguing and unresolved challenge, particularly for their biomedical applications. In this study, we evaluate the critical role of excited-state proton-coupled electron transfer in the emission of metal NCs. Our findings demonstrate that hydronium ion (HO) binding can trigger a nonlinear, pH-dependent excited-state concerted electron proton transfer (CEPT) reaction.

The recent research in this area has primarily focused on qualitative diagnosis, neglecting the quantitative analysis of ultrasound factors that impact RAA-MB outcomes. This study used echocardiography to measure prenatal ultrasound parameters for vascular ring and trachea in fetuses with RAA-MB, employing a nomogram model to evaluate factors influencing their prognosis, thereby providing a comprehensive characterization of potential outcomes.

The microecological stability of the gut microbiota plays a pivotal role in both preventing and treating colorectal cancer (CRC). This study investigated whether CBT (LP-CBT) prevents CRC by inducing alterations in the gut microbiota composition and associated metabolites. The results showed that LP-CBT inhibited colorectal tumorigenesis in azoxymethane/dextran sulfate sodium (AOM/DSS)-treated mice by repairing the intestinal barrier function.
