Purpose: This study aimed to examine the efficacy and underlying mechanisms of action of cinnamic acid (CA) in the treatment of insomnia.
Methods: An insomnia model was established using parachlorophenylalanine (PCPA) in rats. Pathological changes in the rat hippocampal CA3 region were assessed using hematoxylin and eosin staining.

Rationale: Hand herpes zoster (HHZ) is a very rare skin disease in clinical practice. Due to the lack of specificity in its early clinical manifestations, HHZ is easily misdiagnosed as hand eczema or other lesions. Herein, we present a case with atypical HHZ.

Methods: A total of 24 male SD rats were randomly divided into blank control, AE model, boric acid solution (BAS) washing, and moxibustion groups, with 6 rats in each group. The AE model was established by external application of 7% dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB, 100 μL) to the abdominal skin once for the first day, 3 days later, the 5% DNCB to the right back sin, every three days for 3 times.
N-methyladenosine (m1A), a methylation of RNA, is gaining attention for its role in diverse biological processes. However, the potential roles of m1A regulatory-mediated methylation modifications in multiple myeloma (MM) remain unclear. The mRNA expression of m1A regulators in normal plasma (NP; n=9) and MM (n=174) bone marrow plasma cells was investigated and the m1A modification patterns of 559 MM samples based on the expression of 10 m1A-related regulatory genes were comprehensively evaluated.

Objectives: Hypertension and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are common diseases in women at different stages, which affect women's physical and mental health, and the impact of the latter on the offspring cannot not be ignored. Observational studies have investigated the correlation between uterine leiomyoma (UL) and the above conditions, but the relationship remains unclear. In this study, we employed two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to assess the association between UL and hypertension, HDP, as well as blood pressure.

A comprehensive literature search of the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases was conducted through August 2022 to assess the impact of probiotics on blood glucose, lipid, and inflammatory markers in adults with prediabetes. Data were pooled using a random effects model and were expressed as standardized mean differences (SMDs) and 95% confidence interval (CI).

The prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasing worldwide with ill-defined etiology and pathogenesis, and no approved effective therapy is presently available. Exosome-dependent intercellular communication has been identified as a potential signaling involved in tissue repair. Unfortunately, the exact influence and underlying mechanism of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)-derived exosome (Exo) in modulating fatty liver have not been well determined.

Introduction: Physical exercise is an important component of managing Alzheimer's disease (AD). miRNAs can be modulated by exercise intervention.
Objective: The study explored the involvement and potential mechanism of miR-192-5p in the protective effect of physical exercise on AD.
Rationale: According to the literature reports and clinical studies on alopecia areata (AA) from 2008 to 2018, most clinical treatments have been oral drugs and external ointments. At present, systemic immunosuppressive therapy has been widely used in AA, but there are various side effects such as elevated liver enzymes, gastrointestinal discomfort, poor drug compliance, and repeated illness. We present a case report describing a traditional medicine treatment for AA that uses an ethnic therapy of Zhuang medicine, a kind of Traditional Chinese Medicine, namely, medicated thread moxibustion.
