Solid-state lithium metal batteries, particularly those with solid polymer electrolytes, are regarded as promising solutions to achieve both higher energy density and safety. However, their development has been hampered by limited high-voltage tolerance. To overcome this challenge, we propose integrating a multifunctional hybrid nanofiber membrane with polymerization of vinylene carbonate to create a solid electrolyte with exceptional high-voltage stability and efficient room-temperature performance.

Flavan-3-ols (FLOs) have been reported to confer various health benefits, the majority of which reaching the colon for fermentation by gut microbiota. This study sought to examine the effects of FLOs on bone health and to evaluate the influence of gut microbiota on these effects. Using an ovariectomy-induced bone loss model in mice, the animals were administered either a low or high dose of FLOs, or a combination of FLOs with an antibiotic cocktail (Abs+FLOs).

However, the immunosuppressive nature of the tumor microenvironment and the side effects associated with systemic administration limit its efficacy. Taking advantage of bioactive polydopamine (PDA) materials in controlled drug and immunomodulator release owing to their unique physicochemical properties and biocompatibility, recent efforts have focused on engineered PDA nanomedicines with intrinsic immunomodulatory functions, but relevant systematic reviews are lacking.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the interaction of smoking and domestic animal exposure on adult lung function.
Pathological mucus hypersecretion is an important clinical hallmark of chronic airway inflammatory diseases and yet there is a lack of effective therapeutic medicine. Resveratrol, a dietary polyphenol, has been shown to possess anti‑aging, antioxidation, anti‑inflammation and tumor prevention effects. However, the effect and underlying mechanism of resveratrol in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced‑mucus hypersecretion remain to be elucidated.

Background: To investigate the value of pretreatment nasopharyngeal and neck magnetic resonance imaging (NN-MRI) combined with positron emission tomography (PET)/CT-guided therapy for improving survival in upper aerodigestive tract NK/T-cell lymphoma (UADT-NKTL) patients.
Methods: We performed a prospective cohort study including 171 untreated patients histologically diagnosed with UADT-NKTL, of whom 71 patients received PET/CT combined with NN-MRI and the other 100 patients received PET/CT alone. The clinical stage of every patient was classified according to the Ann Arbor and TNM staging systems.
Background & Aims: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a prevalent pregnancy complication associated with adverse short-term and long-term health outcomes for both mother and child. This study aimed to investigate the association between plasma amino acid concentrations and the incidence of GDM from 2019 to 2021.
Methods: Plasma levels of 37 amino acids were precisely measured using triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.
Background: The influence of COVID-19 vaccination before chemoradiotherapy on nonmetastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is not known.
Methods: Propensity score matching was used to minimize potential selection bias between groups. Primary endpoints were treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs).
Importance: With increasing dementia prevalence due to population aging, interpreters are needed to facilitate timely dementia diagnosis by supporting the complex verbal and nonverbal interplay between clinicians and patients during cognitive assessments. However, to our knowledge, no randomized clinical trials have previously evaluated interventions to improve interpreter communication during cognitive assessments for dementia.
Objective: To assess whether online training codesigned by interpreters, clinicians, and multilingual family carers improves the quality of interpreter communication during cognitive assessments for dementia.
Porous activated carbons (AC-AN and AC-AO) for toluene adsorption were prepared starting from brewer's grain biomass pretreated with microorganisms ( van Tieghem for AC-AN and RIB40 for AC-AO). The structures and chemical properties of the three activated carbon materials (AC-AN, AC-AO, and AC that was not pretreated with microorganisms) were characterized by N adsorption-desorption isotherms, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The adsorption behavior of the three activated carbons for toluene was studied and correlated with the physical and chemical properties of these materials.

However, the roles of solution chemistry and organic matter in the deposition behavior of NPs with iron (hydr)oxides minerals and related interfacial interaction mechanism are still poorly understood. In this study, the deposition behaviors of carboxyl-modified polystyrene nanoparticles (COOH-PSNPs) with magnetite were systematically investigated.

It serves as the central hub for genetic regulation and metabolism, making it an ideal target for subcellular drug delivery. The development of nucleus-targeted photosensitizers allows for the rapid and effective destruction of critical components such as DNA within the nucleus.

Several studies have suggested a possible link between the two. In this narrative review, we examined the epidemiology, common risk factors, and pathological mechanisms of PCOS and PD to investigate the potential association between these diseases.

This study aims to analyze whether CHLN metastasis in NMNSCLC is commonly overestimated in clinical practice and to establish a predictive model for enhanced precision.
Methods And Materials: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 834 pathologically confirmed NMNSCLC patients.
Objective: Sub-optimal care of people living with dementia has serious consequences for older populations. The 2021 Australian Royal Commission noted that a large proportion of older adults in aged care live with dementia, yet there are limitations in the knowledge and understanding of staff who care for them. In the pursuit of educating pharmacists, physicians, allied health care professionals, researchers, academics, people living with dementia and their carers, and the public, who are facing the challenges of dementia management, the 'Best Practice in Dementia Health Care' conference was held on November 10, 2022 at Western Health (Sunshine Hospital, Melbourne, Australia).

The adsorption of eight metals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, As, Pb, Cr and Cd) by five types of MPs (low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) was compared, including metal types, mariculture types (cage and longline culture), metal residue content in ambient environment, polymer types and particle sizes of MPs. The results showed that Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Pb and Cr in the mariculture environment were contaminated compared with the quality criteria.

However, increasing studies have pointed out that this staging system is not precise enough for the N status. In this study, we aim to build a convenient survival prediction model that incorporates the current items of lymph node status.

Background: Post-COVID-19 syndrome still occurs in some populations. A healthy lifestyle is widely recognized as a first-line treatment to increase the body's antiviral resistance and tissue repair, but it is unclear whether a healthy lifestyle can promote or alleviate the symptoms of post-COVID-19 syndrome.
Methods: A stratified random sampling method was used to select 498 participants from three universities in Fujian as the target of the questionnaire survey.

Population-level clinical quality indicators (CQIs) for dementia care in permanent residential aged care (PRAC) typically monitor prevalence of antipsychotic use but not prolonged use. This study aimed to develop a CQI for antipsychotic use >90 days and examine trends, associated factors, and variation in CQI incidence; and examine duration of the first episode of use among individuals with dementia accessing home care packages (HCPs) or PRAC.
