Three new irregular terpenoids, gentianellins A-C (1-3), along with two known analogues (4 and 5), were isolated from the whole plants of the medicinal herb Gentianella pygmaea. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis (1D and 2D NMR and HRMS) and quantum chemical calculations. Moderate anti-inflammatory activity of the new isolates was observed via suppressing the secretion of cytokines TNF-α and IL-6 in LPS-induced macrophages RAW264.

Two pairs of racemic xanthone-secoiridoid heterodimers, (±)-swermilactones A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the whole plants of . Their structures, featuring an unusual C-C bond linkage between the xanthone and secoiridoid moieties, were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and ECD calculations. Compounds (+)-1, (-)-1, (+)-2, and (-)-2 moderately inhibited the secretion of cytokines TNF-α and IL-6 in LPS-induced RAW 264.

A prolific multi-product sesterterpene synthase CbTPS1 is characterized from the medicinal Brassicaceae plant Capsella bursa-pastoris. Twenty different sesterterpenes including 16 undescribed compounds, possessing 10 different mono-/di-/tri-/tetra-/penta-carbocyclic skeletons, including the unique 15-membered macrocyclic and 24(15→14)-abeo-capbuane scaffolds, are isolated and structurally elucidated from engineered Escherichia coli strains expressing CbTPS1. Site-directed mutagenesis assisted by molecular dynamics simulations resulted in the variant L354M with up to 13.

Five new secoiridoids, gentianopsins A-E (1-5), along with two known analogues (6 and 7) were isolated from the whole plants of the medicinal herb Gentianopsis barbata. Their structures were elucidated by a comparison of extensive spectroscopic analysis (1D and 2D NMR, and HRMS) and quantum chemical calculations. Gentianopsins A (1) and B (2) represented two unusual skeletons of trihomo-secoiridoids.

Background: Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (LGMS) is a rare spindle cell sarcoma especially in the pancreas, with myofibroblastic differentiation. Hitherto, only a few cases have been reported.

Case Summary: Herein, we report a case involving the discovery of a pancreatic mass detected during a routine physical examination.

Background: Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease of fragility fractures due to the loss of mass and deterioration of the microarchitecture of bone.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the osteogenic effects and the underlying mechanisms of the combined administration of You-Gui Yin (YGY) and Raloxifene hydrochloride (RLX) in ovariectomized (OVX) mice.

Methods: First, a classic animal model was used to mimic postmenopausal osteoporosis through the removal of the ovary of mice.

Purpose: To study the effect of hepatitis B virus X protein binding protein (HBXIP) on proliferation, migration and invasion of adenoid cystic carcinoma cell line ACC-M, and the possible mechanism of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

Methods: HBXIP plasmid was transfected into ACC-M. The cells were divided into experimental group (transfected with plasmid pEGFP-N1-HBXIP) control group (non-transfected group) and blank control group (vector group, pEGFP-N1).

The objective of this study is to systematically evaluate the efficacy of renal denervation (RD), adjusted drugs, or combined therapy for resistant hypertension (RH) through a systematic review and meta-analysis of controlled studies.Publications were comprehensively searched. Studies that investigated the effects of RD and/or adjusted drugs in lowering blood pressure (BP) were included.
