We herein computationally designed a metal-free graphitic carbon nitride/γ-boron nitride (g-CN/γ-BNyne) heterostructure as a promising photocatalyst for overall water splitting and sustainable hydrogen fuel production. The heterostructure shows type-II band energy alignment and significant optical absorption in UV and near-visible regions. The studies on excited state dynamics show that the low nonadiabatic coupling between the VBM and CBM in the heterostructure and the faster decoherence time (22.

The photocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) is a promising approach for green and sustainable ammonia (NH) production under ambient conditions. However, the design of highly efficient photocatalysts remains a significant challenge owing to the inertness of N molecules, complex reaction kinetics, and substantial energy barriers. In this work, we investigate the catalytic mechanism and real-time photocarrier dynamics of NRR on pristine and defect-engineered orthorhombic boron nitride (o-BN), a metal-free and environmentally friendly 2D semiconductor.

This article aims to determine the microstructural alterations in the auditory pathway in prelingual deaf children using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)-derived parameters-fractional anisotropy (FA) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), and secondarily to evaluate these changes in rubella and cytomegalovirus (CMV) positive cases.  A consecutive series of consenting deaf and normal children between 1 and 7 years of age, forming the case and control groups, respectively, underwent DTI, audiological tests, and testing for rubella, CMV, and toxoplasma infections. FA and ADC were measured at four locations bilaterally: lateral lemniscus (LL), inferior colliculus, medial geniculate body, and auditory cortex (AC).

Introduction: There is evidence that diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is associated with increased risk for fractures in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). We planned a study to assess the prevalence of osteoporosis and vertebral fractures (VFs) in postmenopausal type 2 diabetic women aged 40-60 years with DPN and to find out their relationship with severity of DPN.

Methods: This cross-sectional observational study included sixty-two postmenopausal type 2 diabetic women of age 40-60 years, out of them thirty-two were with DPN and thirty were without DPN.

An increasing trend toward harnessing nutraceuticals as food supplements rather than pharmaceuticals as curative and preventive agents against various ailments has been observed. Owing to their health benefits, prebiotics have received notable attention from the pharmaceutical and food industries. Among the different prebiotic oligosaccharides, xylooligosaccharides (XOS) exhibited a remarkable capacity to stimulate the growth of the gut microbiota and benefit individuals with metabolic abnormalities.

Background: Non-secretory multiple myeloma (NSMM) is defined as clonal bone marrow plasma cells ≥10% or biopsy proven plasmacytoma, evidence of end-organ damage due to underlying plasma cell dyscrasia, namely hypercalcemia, renal insufficiency, anaemia, bone lesions and lack of serum and urinary monoclonal protein on electrophoresis and immunofixation. They represent 3-5% of multiple myeloma (MM). With the advent of serum free light chain (s FLC) measurement, most of NSMMs have been classified as Light chain Multiple myeloma (LCMM).

Abdominal pregnancies, 1% of all ectopic pregnancies, present diagnostic complexities with a significant risk of intraperitoneal haemorrhage and mortality. Hepatic occurrences are exceptionally uncommon, with treatment strategies less established.A woman in her early 30s and third pregnancy underwent laparotomy due to haemoperitoneum suspecting an ectopic pregnancy, but normal pelvic structures were observed.

The widespread use of plastic in food packaging provides significant challenges due to its non-biodegradability and the risk of hazardous chemicals seeping into food and the environment. This highlights the pressing need to come up with alternatives to traditional plastic that prioritize environmental sustainability, food quality, and safety. The current study presents an up-to-date examination of micro/nano plastic (MP/NP) consumption and their associated toxicity to human health, while also considering bioplastic as safer and eco-friendly alternative materials for packaging.

In the quest for an efficient solar energy harvester, one should focus on materials that have a large carrier lifetime. Using time-domain density functional theory combined with nonadiabatic molecular dynamics simulations, we herein established that single-atom doping from the pnictogen family can effectively alter the electron-hole recombination time in o-BN monolayer as compared to pristine sheet. Our study reveals that with increasing the mass of the dopant atoms, the carrier lifetime increases.

Purpose: Chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma is a frequent disease entity in otology, requiring surgery in overwhelming majority of cases. Despite the huge burden there is no established grading system available to assess the severity and extent of disease preoperatively until date. Aim of our study is to assess the applicability of ChOLE staging to preoperative HRCT temporal bone in Chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma.

Introduction: The determination of one's blood group is dictated by the inheritance-based diversity in the presence or absence of RBC antigens on the surface. Extended Rhesus (Rh) antigens are the most clinically relevant antigens of blood group systems after the ABO blood group system in transfusion medicine. The aim of this study was to serologically assess the prevalence of extended Rh antigens across diverse blood group systems.

The main objective of this work is to synthesize multifunctional nanodendritic structural molecules that can effectively encapsulate hydrophilic as well as hydrophobic therapeutic agents. Four different types of fourth-generation lysine-citric acid based dendrimer have been synthesized in this work: PE-MC-Lys-CA-PEG, TMP-MC-Lys-CA-PEG, PE-MS-Lys-CA-PEG, and TMP-MS-Lys-CA-PEG. The antibacterial drug cefotaxime (CFTX) was further conjugated to these dendrimers.

In order to develop an efficient metal-free solar energy harvester, we herein performed the electronic structure calculation, followed by the hot carrier relaxation dynamics of two dimensional (2D) aza-covalent organic framework by time domain density functional calculations in conjunction with non-adiabatic molecular dynamics (NAMD) simulation. The electronic structure calculation shows that the aza-covalent organic framework (COF) is a direct bandgap semiconductor with acute charge separation and effective optical absorption in the UV-visible region. Our study of non-adiabatic molecular dynamics simulation predicts the sufficiently prolonged electron-hole recombination process (6.

In search of a promising optoelectronic performance, we herein investigated the hot carrier relaxation dynamics of a lead-free cubic phased bulk formamidinium tin triiodide (FASnI) perovskite. To gain detailed theoretical insights, we should estimate the carrier relaxation dynamics of this pristine perovskite. To control the dynamics, point defects like central tin (Sn), iodine(I) anions, and formamidinium (FA) cations were introduced.
