Critical limb ischemia (CLI) is a refractory peripheral artery disease characterized by tissue ischemia, presenting significant therapeutic challenges. Current surgical revascularization treatments are limited by indications, complications, and other constraints, making the identification of novel therapeutic strategies an important objective for CLI management. In this study, we designed and synthesized a novel short peptide, named MY-1, and developed a GelMA/MY-1 hydrogel sustained-release system for local application in a mouse hindlimb ischemia model.

Bacterial metabolism provides the essential materials and energy for growth and reproduction. Through complex transformations and electron transfer, bacteria convert external nutrients into useable forms and achieve pathogenicity in the human body. In recent years, with the global spread of antibiotic resistance, traditional antibiotic treatments have become increasingly ineffective and may even exacerbate the imbalance of the human microbiota.

Background: In clinical practice, acute-phase reactive proteins (APRPs) are frequently measured at random times. However, it is unclear whether the use of fasting or nonfasting samples affects results. This study aims to investigate the variations of APRPs between fasting and nonfasting conditions.

Conventional tissue engineering approaches have primarily focused on promoting interface healing by stimulating regeneration in either the tendon or bone. However, these methods often fall short of achieving optimal therapeutic outcomes due to their neglect of balancing bone homeostasis and remodeling the microstructure at the osteoporotic tendon-to-bone interface.

The concentration of reactive oxygen species (ROS) within cells has been demonstrated as a pivotal player in modulating these intricate pathological processes, exerting significant roles in restoring oral functionality and maintaining tissue structural integrity. Due to their enzyme-like catalytic properties, unique composition, and intelligent design, ROS-based nanomaterials have garnered considerable attention in oral nanomedicine.

Materials And Methods: An analysis was conducted to examine the expression and distribution of TIIRGs in cardiomyocytes.
Background: Pneumatic tube system (PTS) may be associated with preanalytical hemolysis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of PTS on biochemical and immunological tests susceptible to hemolysis and try to find ways to reduce the result bias caused by PTS.
Methods: Laboratory parameters were compared between PTS without centrifuging group, PTS after centrifuging group, PTS with serum group, and hand-delivered (HD) group.

Background: Lingguizhugan decoction is commonly used to treat metabolic syndrome; however, its curative effect on hypertension is still unclear. Our study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Lingguizhugan decoction combined with western medicine in the treatment of hypertension.
Methods: We searched 7 electronic databases for relevant studies and full-text articles involved in the evaluation of clinical effects difference between Lingguizhugan decoction combined with western medicine and western medicine alone.

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay has turned out to be one of the most potential tools for diagnosis of schistosomiasis. However, the source and metabolic dynamics of Schistosoma japonicum DNA in the blood of hosts is not clear. In this study, rabbit models with monosexual and mixed sexual cercariae infection were established to interpret the source of the parasite DNA in serum of the hosts.

A praziquantel analog 10-hydroxy praziquantel and eight praziquantel/peroxide conjugates were synthesized. The biological activity of these compounds was evaluated against juvenile and adult stages of Schistosoma japonicum. Unlike praziquantel, 10-hydroxy praziquantel exhibits activity against both juvenile and adult Schistosoma japonicumin.
