However, the baseline distribution of mcfDNA in different populations remains unclear. This study characterizes plasma mcfDNA profiles across various human populations.

Background: Progesterone can inhibit intestinal smooth muscle contraction; however, the specific mechanism remains unclear. Besides smooth muscle cells, smooth muscle has two important mesenchymal cells, namely interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) and PDGFRα cells, which induce the contraction and relaxation of smooth muscles. We aimed to explore the regulation of PDGFRα cells and ICC in progesterone-mediated colon slow transit in pregnant mice.

Development of tetracycline-modified nanoparticles for bone-targeted delivery of anti-tubercular drug.

Since the poor response to existing anti-tuberculosis drugs and low drug concentration in local bone tissues, the traditional drug therapy does not result in satisfactory treatment of osteoarticular tuberculosis. Thus, we report a rifapentine release system with imparted bone targeting potential using tetracycline (TC) -modified nanoparticles (NPs). Cobalt oxide (CoO) is regarded as the anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with great research value owing to its environmental friendliness and exceptional theoretical capacity. However, the low intrinsic conductivity, poor electrochemical kinetics, and unsatisfactory cycling performance severely limit its practical applications in LIBs. The construction of a self-standing electrode with heterostructure by introducing a highly conductive cobalt-based compound is an effective strategy to solve the above issues.

Dense hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy with cisplatin in patients with stage III serous epithelial ovarian cancer: a retrospective study.

Background: To investigate the efficacy and safety of interval debulking surgery (IDS) combined with dense hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with cisplatin in Chinese patients with FIGO stage III serous epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).

Methods: This retrospective single-center study reviewed the demographic and clinical data of 197 patients with primary FIGO stage III serous EOC who were treated with IDS with (n = 121) or without (n = 76, control group) dense HIPEC between January 2012 and April 2017. The co-primary endpoints were progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS), and the secondary endpoint was the occurrence of adverse events.

Social change and birth cohort decrease in social support for older adults in China: A cross-temporal meta-analysis, 1994-2018.

Social support not only plays an important role in the physical and mental health of the elderly people but also constitutes an essential resource for healthy ageing. With the rapid economic and social development during the last 40 years in China, the acceleration of urbanisation, and the disintegration of traditional extended families, the social support that Chinese older adults receive may be declining, leading to deterioration in quality of life for the rapidly ageing population. Cross-temporal meta-analysis was employed to investigate changes in older Chinese adults' social support from 1994 to 2018.

The seismic vibrator has become a main energy source for land seismic exploration. For a seismic vibrator, a piston is installed in the vertical direction in the reaction mass, and the reaction mass moves up and down along the piston. Because of vibrator dynamic disturbances in the reaction mass and baseplate system, the vibrator output force is contaminated by harmonic distortion.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study that included singleton deliveries (N = 5251) resulting from FET in a single center between August 2013 and March 2016.
