Surgical repair of orbital fractures comes with risks. One rare risk is interference with the actions of the superior oblique tendon-muscle complex causing an acquired Brown syndrome. We present the case of a 45-year-old man who developed acquired Brown syndrome after undergoing repair of a large orbital floor and medial orbital wall fracture using a titanium mesh implant.

We aim to evaluate the accuracy of intestinal ultrasound in a point-of-care setting in India and compare it with ileo-colonoscopy, the current gold standard.
Methods: In this prospective observational study, consecutive patients with a diagnosis of Crohn's disease seen at initial presentation or follow-up were included.
Pea protein is gaining global attention as a sustainable, plant-based alternative to animal proteins due to its lower environmental impact. However, conventional thermal processing methods can degrade its functional and nutritional properties. This review explores sustainable non-thermal approaches for pea protein processing, focusing on pre-treatment, extraction, and modification.

Due to the lack of scientific evidence, to implement it as a therapeutic tool, the goal of the current study was to evaluate how SCFC oil massage affected the cardio-respiratory characteristics of volunteers in good health.
Methods: The present study was a randomized control trial.
This research investigated the effects of solid-state fermentation with (MTCC 548) on the mineral bioavailability, structural characteristics, and functional attributes of kidney bean flour across different fermentation durations (24-96 h). Notable improvements were observed during 96 h of fermentation, including significant increases in foaming capacity and stability (by 32.30 % and 34.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is an advanced form of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) characterized by the accumulation of fats in the liver, chronic inflammation, hepatocytic ballooning, and fibrosis. This study investigates the significance of hepatic aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) signaling in cinnabarinic acid (CA)-mediated protection against MASH. Here, we report that livers of high-fat, high-fructose, high-cholesterol diet-fed hepatocyte-specific aryl hydrocarbon receptor knockout mice (AhR-hKO) exhibited aggravated steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis compared with control AhR-floxed livers.

As the demand for clean water intensifies, developing effective methods for removing pollutants from contaminated sources becomes increasingly crucial. This work establishes a method for additive manufacturing of functional polymer sorbents with hollow porous features, designed to enhance interactions with organic micropollutants. Specifically, core-shell filaments are used as the starting materials, which contain polypropylene (PP) as the shell and poly(acrylonitrile-co-butadiene-co-styrene) as the core, to fabricate 3-dimensional (3D) structures on-demand via material extrusion.

This study investigated whether acromegaly and Graves' orbitopathy (GO) are associated with different patterns of EOM enlargement at the time of diagnosis. Retrospective cohort.

Purpose: To investigate the relationships between vision-related functional impairment (VFI) with sociodemographic and healthcare access factors in a representative sample of the United States population.
Methods: Data from the 2017 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) were used. The NHIS involves responses from the U.
Purpose: To investigate the relationship between social determinants of health and the prevalence of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Methods: This analysis included adult respondents (≥50 years old) from the 2017 National Health Interview Survey. The primary outcomes were self-reported diagnosis of AMD and self-reported vision loss because of AMD.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between sociodemographic and healthcare access factors with self-reported diabetic retinopathy (DR) prevalence in a nationally representative sample of the United States.
Design: This is a population based, cross-sectional analysis.
Methods: Data from those who answered the question, "Have you ever been told by a doctor or other health professional that you had diabetic retinopathy?" from the 2017 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) was analyzed through logistic regression to examine the association between DR prevalence and social determinants of health (SDH).
Purpose: Ocular surface disorders (OSDs) can severely affect vision and quality of life. Autologous blood products, such as plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF), are recently available to treat OSDs refractory to traditional therapies. This review aims to summarize the efficacy and safety of PRGF in OSDs.

In this systematic review, the efficacy of scleral buckle (SB) with pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) was compared to PPV alone in eyes with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) due to inferior retinal breaks (IRB). Measured outcomes included final best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), anatomic success, and complication rates in randomized controlled trials and observational studies from 2000 to 2022. Among four studies (696 eyes), three studies demonstrated no significant difference between PPV and PPV/SB for final BCVA, whereas one study reported better BCVA with added SB.

Methods: Children aged 2-17 years old from the 2021 National Health Interview Survey with data pertaining to vision difficulty were included in our retrospective, population-based analysis. Our primary aim was investigating physical and psychosocial challenges as predictors of vision difficulty.
Plant-based proteins have gained popularity in the food industry as a good protein source. Among these, chickpea protein has gained significant attention in recent times due to its high yields, high nutritional content, and health benefits. With an abundance of essential amino acids, particularly lysine, and a highly digestible indispensable amino acid score of 76 (DIAAS), chickpea protein is considered a substitute for animal proteins.
