Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) has become one of the major health burdens in the world with high mortality rates, especially at the advanced stages. The C-reactive protein (CRP)-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index is a novel multidimensional biomarker combining systemic inflammation, nutritional status, and immune function. This study evaluated the association between the CALLY index and overall survival (OS) as well as recurrence-free survival (RFS) in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients.

Background: The relationship between thickness of subcutaneous fat (TSF) and surgical site infection (SSI), as one of the most common complications after appendectomy, has been inconsistent in different studies, which may be due to the low power of these studies. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the relationship between SSI and TSF after open surgery (OS) and laparoscopic surgery (LS) in patients with appendicitis.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases were searched based on mesh terms to find relevant studies from the beginning of 2000 to 2024.

The role of the number of negative lymph nodes (NLNs) removed on survival and tumor recurrence after surgery in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the number of NLNs on overall survival (OS), recurrence-free survival (RFS), and recurrence rate of patients with NSCLC after surgery. This multicenter retrospective cohort study examined the medical profile of 1002 patients with a definite diagnosis of NSCLC who underwent surgery between 2021 and 2023 at one of our medical centers.

This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effect of the high number of NLNs removed on the survival rate of patients with EC after surgery.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases with relevant Mesh terms to find studies that investigated the effect of the number of NLNs resected on the survival of EC patients after surgery until February 17, 2025.
Purpose Of Review: Whether low birth weight (LBW) and preterm delivery (PD) are associated with the risk of developing celiac disease (CD) in children remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the association between LBW and PD with CD development in children.
Recent Findings: We searched PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases based on the Mesh terms to find observational studies that investigated the association of LBW and PD with CD development in children up to July 18, 2024.
Perforated peptic ulcer (PPU) is one of the common complications of peptic ulcers. Open repair (OR) is the traditional surgical treatment for this condition, but with advances in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic repair (LR) has gained popularity. Many studies have compared the effectiveness of OR vs.

Background: Today, the prescription of tramadol in patients with osteoarthritis (OA) has increased significantly, which can be associated with serious consequences. Contradictory results have been reported regarding the association of tramadol versus codeine with the risk of all-cause mortality (ACM) and cardiovascular diseases (CVD).
Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate, for the first time, the association of tramadol versus codeine with the risk of ACM and CVD in OA patients for the first time.
Cancer, the second greatest cause of mortality worldwide, frequently causes bone metastases in patients with advanced-stage carcinomas such as prostate, breast, and lung cancer. The existence of these metastases contributes to the occurrence of skeletal-related events (SREs), which are defined by excessive pain, pathological fractures, hypercalcemia, and spinal cord compression. These injurious incidents leave uncomfortably in each of the cancer patient's life quality.

Methods: PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases were searched with special keywords. Related studies were included after screening by two independent investigators based on title and full texts.
Prenatal vitamin D (PVD) is a vital micronutrient for dental caries (DCs). The association between prenatal vitamin D deficiencies (PVDD) and DCs in children has been conflicting in different reports. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the association between PVDD and DCs in children for the first time.

This systematic review and meta-analysis study aimed to evaluate the association of tramadol use versus codeine use with the risk of hip fracture for the first time.
Methods: PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases were searched with specific keywords to find studies that examined the association of tramadol use with hip fracture risk in patients with osteoarthritis up to May 2023.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. The survival rate after hepatectomy as the first line of treatment for HCC depends on various factors. This study evaluated the association of the ABO blood group and Rh with overall survival (OS) and Recurrence-free survival (RFS) rate after hepatectomy.

Hence, this systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted for the first time to investigate the prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency and its symptoms in gastric cancer (GC) patients who underwent gastrectomy.
Method: PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science databases were searched to find related studies.

Background: Various factors affect the survival rate of Gastric cancer (GC) patients after gastrectomy. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the number of negative lymph nodes (NLNs) removed on GC patients' survival and recurrence rate after gastrectomy.
Methods: In this retrospective, multicenter cohort study, we reviewed the medical profile of 639 patients with a definite diagnosis of GC who underwent gastrectomy from 2010 to 2022 in one of the medical centers affiliated with the Iran University of Medical Sciences.
