SF3B1 is the most frequently mutated splicing factor in cancer. Such mutations cause missplicing by promoting aberrant 3' splice site usage; however, how this occurs mechanistically remains controversial. To address this issue, we employed a computational screen of 600 splicing-related proteins to identify those whose reduced expression recapitulates mutant SF3B1-induced splicing dysregulation.

As a molecular feature that characterizes most tumor types, cancer-associated splicing dysregulation largely arises from recurrent genetic mutations and altered expression of trans-acting splicing factors. Although splicing factor mutations occur less frequently in solid tumors, splicing disorders are pervasive and proven to promote tumorigenesis. However, it still lacks an efficient way to identify the key splicing factors at the top regulatory hierarchy whose abnormal expressions induce such splicing disorders and drive phenotypic variability.

Peripheral T cell lymphomas (PTCLs) comprise heterogeneous malignancies with limited therapeutic options. To uncover targetable vulnerabilities, we generate a collection of PTCL patient-derived tumor xenografts (PDXs) retaining histomorphology and molecular donor-tumor features over serial xenografting. PDX demonstrates remarkable heterogeneity, complex intratumor architecture, and stepwise trajectories mimicking primary evolutions.

Pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) are one of the most common intracranial tumors with diverse clinical manifestations. Current pathological classification systems rely primarily on histological hormone staining and transcription factors (TFs) expression. While effective in identifying three major lineages, molecular characteristics based on hormones and TFs lack sufficient resolution to fully capture the complex tumor heterogeneity.

Background: Bone-invasive Pituitary Neuroendocrine Tumors (BI PitNETs) epitomize an aggressive subtype of pituitary tumors characterized by bone invasion, culminating in extensive skull base bone destruction and fragmentation. This infiltration poses a significant surgical risk due to potential damage to vital nerves and arteries. However, the mechanisms underlying bone invasion caused by PitNETs remain elusive, and effective interventions for PitNET-induced bone invasion are lacking in clinical practice.

Here we report a triboelectric pressure sensor based on water-containing triboelectric elastomer with gradient-based microchannels. Tiny amount of liquid is injected into the triboelectric elastomer and the pressure-induced water bridges can modulate the built-in electric field of the sensor, which enhance the signal linearity near the compression limit.

Domains play an essential role in determining the piezoelectric properties of polymers. The conventional method for achieving ultrafine piezoelectric domain structures for polymers is multiphase polymerization, which is not the primary choice for industrial-scale applications because of its complex synthesis and weak mechanical properties. In this study, it is demonstrated for the first time that a nanoscale domain design can be achieved in a commercially available polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) homopolymer through a simple fabrication method involving cyclic compression and rapid freezing.

In this study, the aim was to construct an acoustic polygraph based on a variety of phonetic and acoustic features rather than on electrodermal, cardiovascular, and respiratory values.
Methods: Sixty-two participants from the University of Science and Technology of China, aged 18-30 years old, were involved in the mock crime experiment and were randomly assigned to the innocent and guilty groups.
Purpose: This research aims to identify acoustic features which can distinguish patients with Parkinson's disease (PD patients) and healthy speakers.
Methods: Thirty PD patients and 30 healthy speakers were recruited in the experiment, and their speech was collected, including three vowels (/i/, /a/, and /u/) and nine consonants (/p/, /pʰ/, /t/, /tʰ/, /k/, /kʰ/, /l/, /m/, and /n/). Acoustic features like fundamental frequency (F0), Jitter, Shimmer, harmonics-to-noise ratio (HNR), first formant (F1), second formant (F2), third formant (F3), first bandwidth (B1), second bandwidth (B2), third bandwidth (B3), voice onset, voice onset time were analyzed in our experiment.
Ocean energy harvesting based on a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has great application potential, while the encapsulation of triboelectric devices in water poses a critical issue. Herein, a triboelectric-electromagnetic hybrid nanogenerator (TE-HNG) consisting of TENGs and electromagnetic generators (EMGs) is proposed to harvest water flow energy. A magnetic coupling transmission component is applied to replace traditional bearing structures, which can realize the fully enclosed packaging of the TENG devices and achieve long-lasting energy harvesting from water flow.

Although the protein coding target genes of p53 have been well studied, less is known about its role in regulating long noncoding genes and their functional relevance to cancer. Here we report the genome-wide identification of a large set (>1,000) of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNA), which are putative p53 targets in a colon cancer cell line and in human patient datasets from five different common types of cancer.

However, the sodium anode showed low efficiency and poor cycling in Na-metal battery performance due to the formation of sodium dendrites and serious corrosion. In this work, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) co-doped carbon paper (NP-CP) modified with cobalt tetroxide (CoO) nanoparticles was prepared as the Na anode carrier (CoO@NP-CP), and a sodium-based composite anode (Na-Co@NP-CP) was further prepared by electrodepositing sodium.

Here, elaborately synthesized acid-ion-doped pyridine-based polybenzimidazole processing with strong charge retention capability is demonstrated to couple with negatively corona-polarized electrets. As illustrated by thermal stimulation and an ion mass spectrometer, the formation of acid-ion chimerism processes high activation energy for stored charges, and the selective anion migration can compensate the escape of polarized charge.

While it is known that hotspot mutations lead to loss of splicing factor SUGP1 from spliceosomes, the cancer-relevant SF3B1-SUGP1 interaction has not been characterized. To address this issue, we show by structural modeling that two regions flanking the SUGP1 G-patch make numerous contacts with the region of SF3B1 harboring hotspot mutations.
