Inspired by nacre's hierarchical "brick-and-mortar" architecture, ice templating has emerged as a frontier technique for fabricating layered bulk polymer nanocomposites. This review systematically explores the innovative theories and technological advancements in the fabrication of layered bulk polymer nanocomposites via ice templating from a structure-property-application perspective. First, it focus on elucidating three core construction strategies enabled by ice templating: lamellar scaffold infiltration with polymers, hot-pressing, and mineralization.

SiC nanofibers, with their moderate dielectric constant and chemical inertness, are ideal multifunctional coating fillers. However, their single-component nature limits microwave attenuation, resulting in low efficiency and narrow bandwidth.

Ticagrelor, a reversible P2Y12 receptor antagonist, is the first-line recommended antiplatelet agent for acute coronary syndrome. Despite its widespread use, 13.8 % of patients report dyspnea, a side effect not fully understood but potentially linked to elevated levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, or serotonin) associated with tracheal constriction.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) has become a commonly used alternative material for fusion cages owing to its excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility, but its biological inertness limits bone regeneration and may lead to poor fusion. In this study, a novel strategy for preparing bioactive biomineralized PEEK cages was developed using a unique combination of osteoinductive CaP bioceramic fillings in the cage window, acid sulfonation and simulated body fluid incubation.

The programs targeting existing HNHC patients have shown limited long-term impact, and research predicting HNHC pediatric patients in China is limited. There is an urgent need to establish a specific, valid, and reliable prediction model using machine-learning-based methods to identify potential HNHC pediatric patients and implement proactive interventions before high costs arise.

We have developed a deep learning-based image segmentation model to enhance the efficiency of scoliosis screening.
Methods: A total of 350 patients with scoliosis and 108 healthy subjects were included in this study.
Background: The development of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapies for solid tumors has attracted considerable attention, yet their clinical efficacy remains limited. Therefore, various efforts have been made to improve the efficacy of CAR-T cell therapy. As one promising strategy, incorporating the T-cell receptor (TCR) machinery into CAR structures has been reported to improve the efficacy of CAR-T cells in studies using conventional CARs targeting such as EGFR.

Background: Cancer patients experience substantial psychological distress which causes the reduction of the quality of life. However, the risk of psychological distress has not been well predicted especially in young- and middle-aged gynaecological cancer patients. This study aimed to develop a prediction model for psychological distress in young- and middle-aged gynaecological cancer patients using the artificial neural network (ANN).

Glutinous rice (GR), an important food crop in Asia, provides prolonged energy for the human body due to its high amylopectin content. The non-volatile metabolites generated by different cooking methods that affect the nutritional value and color of GR are still poorly understood. Herein, a widely targeted metabolomics approach was used to understand the effects of different cooking methods (steaming, baking, and frying) on the metabolite profiles of GR.

Hydrophobic nano silica powder is a kind of important synergist to silicone defoaming agents. The large pore volume and branched chain conformation of silica nanoparticles present superior effects on defoaming properties. However, silica nanoparticles synthesized by liquid phase easily aggregate and pore collapse because of their high surface activity and polarity, leading to poorer dispersity and limited practicability.

Herein, by introducing double alkaline-earth metal (AEM) atoms, three wide band gap selenide IR NLO materials AMgGaSe (A = Ca, Sr, Ba) with excellent linear and NLO optical properties have been rationally designed and fabricated. AMgGaSe (A = Ca, Sr, Ba) are composed of unique [ASe] triangular prisms, [MgSe] octahedra and [GaSe] tetrahedra.

Materials And Methods: The baseline survey for the cohort study began in 2018, with follow up ending in 2022. Our study enrolled 59,030 older diabetes patients with no history of cardiovascular disease (CVD).
To meet the demand for the track's geometric parameter detection equipment for train speed and high-speed aerodynamics tests, a zero-calibration gauge device is designed with the centering limit, height adjustment and horizontal display function in this paper. The bending situation of the zero-calibration gauge is analyzed and the processing technology is studied, which ensures the rationality and realizability of the design of zero-calibration gauge. Then the gauge zero value and the parallelism of the working surface of zero-calibration gauge have been experimentally tested.

One major obstacle is the scarcity of tumor-specific cell-surface molecules. One potential solution to overcome this barrier is to utilize antibodies that recognize peptide/major histocompatibility complex (MHCs) in a T cell receptor (TCR)-like fashion, allowing CAR-T cells to recognize intracellular tumor antigens.

Despite an increasing amount of empirical studies examining research-related misconduct, a majority of these studies focus on retracted publications. How agencies spot funding-relevant wrongdoing and what sanctions the offenders face remain largely unexplored.

Here we reported the solvent free preparation of lignosulfonate (LS) stabilized eutectic gallium/indium (EGaIn) LM nanodroplets through ball milling (BM), which was recognized to be efficient and environmentally-friendly alternatives to solution-based methods. By regulating the BM frequency and milling time, uniform LM nanodroplets with a size <200 nm can be achieved.
